But I read that you guys have some sweet roads:). Also I love flying Emirates Airlines (the booze is free zomg! and they have free food - you no pay extra for more food Mr. Jones!). I remember my first flight when I pulled out my wallet for the wine and the stewardess smiled (Economy class).
Oh, their duty free shopping is nice too. Nice place I think if you don't mind the heat:(
Well mate, I would like to believe the same but even at 6feet, once a weapon's fired, I'd like to see a human move faster than the muzzle velocity of a 50caliber bullet moving at 1400-1500feet per second. Which means at 6 feet, the time it takes is about 0.004 seconds. If you were talking about disarming an armed person prior to the shot, that's a different story. But at your 10-15ft my friend, it's not like in the movies - no Remo or Neo dodging bullets when the reaction time needs to be faster than frick.
It's all situational but once the shot's fired and the bullet is gonna hit some part of the human body, it's pretty "Esc" "Load Game" "Enter"
Martial arts can counter small arms fire only when you have enough chi/energy/filled white bottle with filling at lower right hand corner of screen and you press B for bullet-time before the bullet pierces you.
In all other cases as evidenced by Indiana Jones' handgun, guns win against martials arts.
Mr. Blecher said that EA had a âoea brief conversationâ with the Scrabulous creators about working together but that ultimately the company decided it wanted to control the game itself and develop it across various technology platforms.
Too many variables here but one mention of EA and I am ready to judge the whole episode in favor of the Indian brothers. Maybe the Indians opposed the ads?:P
With Ubuntu, you get a more friendly/usable Debian. Ubuntu is pretty much to Debian as Fedora is to RHEL when it comes to new/unpolished features/kernel/software. Granted both Debian and Ubuntu are available for 0$ but that doesn't change the fact that Ubuntu is more usable because the distribution is more flexible. (Blah blah opensource, blah blah centrino drivers, blah blah licensing, blah blah xorg, blah hardware support).
I've used Debian and Redhat before I started using Ubuntu and I totally appreciate how Ubuntu is more usable / user-friendly. I just want something that works and cannot really be bothered into getting involved in semantic/pedantic arguments about how commerical/non-opensource software shouldn't be bundled with a true opensource distro. Oh that and I used apt for Redhat for a while because I couldn't handle RPM (or up2date).
Excellent point - the reason that Google has Knol out is the reason they have Image Labeler out. Create content (for Google) / test Google's software for free while enjoying Google's "free" offerings.
I can see Knol as being beneficial from the perspective of selling my own goods (free advertising) but it's not really a replacement for Wikipedia and I don't think Google wants/intends Knol to replace Wikipedia. Knol is about sharing expertise and I don't see a reason why Wikipedia and Knol can co-exist in harmony.
I started a blog three months ago on Blogger and two days after my blog was created, Blogger's spam detecting software marked my benign text only blog as a "spam blog" and locked me out for a week after promising to restore access in 4 days if I responded to their email.
After 4 days, I went with Wordpress and Bluehost (needed other services like gallery as well). Blogger was promising when it first came out but Google doesn't work enough on Blogger (being free and all). Also the "Flag" feature exists so you can flag blogs for offensive/spam content but I am not sure if that makes a difference.
I commend Google for providing Blogger free of charge (although this is from Google buying Pyra more than 5 years ago) and allowing people to make money from Adsense but the feature set leaves a lot to be desired. To be fair, they have introduced a few features in the last 2-3 months but I love Wordpress now.
When it comes to individuals pirating their software (their OS, Office, Visual Studio), Microsoft actually would prefer those people pirate their software instead of using alternatives. This is also the same reason they offer Windows, Office and Visual Studio at student discounts for well, students.
Microsoft would rather have young programmers pirate their Visual Studio and get used to developing in that environment rather than let's say Ubuntu + gvim + gcc. Also there is a chance that the average Joe who's on a pirated WxP copy will go out to BestBuy and buy Vista before calling in the slashdot cousin to upgrade his OS - which the average Joe wouldn't do if he was running Fedora. (This paragraph is directly from a Manager at Microsoft's Active Directory Services team - everything except for the/. cousin).
As someone else here has noted, MS only cares about piracy when businesses do it or large scale piracy happens (someone's making money from it). I get my genuine copies of Microsoft Software from their employee store (buddies of mine work at MS) at really cheap prices (35$ for XP Pro, Windows games at 10-20$, Xbox 360 games at 15-25$) but I know it costs next to nothing for MS to print out those copies - even 25$ == profit.
Production of the first capsule -- consisting of two sealed rooms that can fit into the fuselage of a large military aircraft -- has already begun.
Air Force documents spell out how each of the capsules is to be "aesthetically pleasing and furnished to reflect the rank of the senior leaders using the capsule," with beds, a couch, a table, a 37-inch flat-screen monitor with stereo speakers, and a full-length mirror.
You've been modded properly;-). SWG was a lot of fun initially till it started out to be a non-paying job. Oh frick, my house is crumbling - oh frick gotta check on my machines. That and they sacrificed their current user-base in search of a new market (Blizzard is great at this - they don't alienate their current users while getting new users to sign up at the same time..mostly).
"Things get wet when you put them in liquid water! More at 11!" "Myspace is full of angsty teens and pedophiles" "Santa is real but works for the NSA" "Pro wrestling is fake, so are the breasts but it's fun to see women tear their clothes off each other anyway"
Only if the drivers allow themselves to be tracked at all times and allow the data to be uploaded to a location where the insurance company can monitor the data at their own whim and fancy. You are right though - I know Progressive gives discounts for kids who have GPS trackers in their vehicles.
You're right. Big oops right there. The misuse of the apostrophe is so widespread that I am almost getting immune to the misuse. If I had a penny for every time I saw the apostrophe used to denote plural form...
Hmmm, I can see the stronger magnetic fields making the proton field more benign but eh you probably know more than I can recollect from my high school physics. I am not even on an armchair physics level:-\
Umm, the radiation belts are present *because* of earth's magnetic field. Satellites are shielded against this radiation and radiation exposure is inevitable. The radiation belts in the LEO and GEO are because of Earth's geomagnetic field. It's just that at lower altitudes, proton radiation is prominent. At higher altitudes, the killer electrons (from acceleration) take over. Armchair physics much?
Not a great analogy but let's try to fix that: try replacing "personal email address" with "company email address" to arrange your drug deal and your employer would be involved in some way.
It might be irrelevant to the lawsuit but doesn't it make Viacom appear in poor light. Google's lawyers might say that Viacom employees were getting paid to upload copyrighted content to Youtube to make Viacom's case. Alternatively if Viacom employees cannot help themselves, how can you expect an average teen to not upload? I can go on...
Oh and my understanding of the law is limited to Law and Order + John Grisham.
You'd be surprised what a night shift can do to people. That and the amenities Google provides to its employees, chances are you will find more than a few employees working late into the night and then taking a 30minute break *cough*. It's speculation but the point is it is quite possible for someone to upload copyrighted stuff using "employer resources".
Surely there must be a few viacom employees (or employees of its partners) who have either watched or uploaded or both (and I am talking about copyrighted crap) videos to Youtube. How about looking for them?
Hell how about looking for MS employees? or Boeing? Might as well look for everything..Good luck Viacom/spit.

Sorry, couldn't resist.

Hmmm and the new movie is coming out soon - actually tomorrow. Coincidence? I think not. Trustno1.

The blog was actually about American stupidity.
