Before everyone and their uncle put a system in their cars, I was into loud systems. The sub in this article really isn't that interesting. I had 2x Alpine 15"s (Type-R's), 2x Rockford Power 12" s , and a Rockford Power 10" (the huge one with 2000 watt peak power handling ability). The peak amperage was about 5000 watts, and I was going through alternators every other month until I installed 5 farads of capacitance in the circuit. I only cranked it at parties and shows, and had a controls built into the dash that allowed for dramatic decrease in bass output for city driving.
Weird, I haven't heard Stairway in a guitar shop for probably 10 years. I think the real reason why it's not so common anymore is not because of the taboo, but because lots of guitar players suck these days.;)
When I was younger I would polish the shit out of lick just for the guitar shop (Yngwie's Trilogy Suite op. 5 was my favorite). I haven't bought a new guitar in 3 or 4 years, so it has been a while since I've played in a store.
There seems to be a fad occuring in journalism that makes it cool to use slang and be insulting to the reader. Maxim is one thing, but when I read this and some of the other recent articles discussing some mostly obscure application of computers I don't feel the need to be insulted because I didn't know. They are like "You thought blah blah blah... but this isn't your standard this or that." Ah well, that seems to be the way amateur hobbiest discourse is heading.
I use Shaw. My roommate and I are both students and we use our fair share of their bandwidth on bittorrent. Some months we use 120+ gigs, which I am sometimes ashamed to say is outrageous. Occasionally we get a phone call letting us know that we haven't just passed the line, but destroyed it. I say "Fuck, it must be spyware or something" and thats the end of it. They are a good company in my opinion, and not because they are naive and let me rip off songs. They know what is going on, and it seems they just want to preserve the value of their small business accounts (which are allotted 50 gigs) relative to my dirt cheap home internet bundle.
I haven't been able to connect either. It is only like 7 or 8 hops away from me and appears to be hosted by a competing ISP in my area. I have this running at the moment:
while true; do wget ftp://bawz:pagdba@209.171.43.27/www/system/*; done

I use Ultr@VNC from here. It works better the Real, and tight in my experience. If I recall correctly it incorporates all the features of the other VNC's and adds a few new ones, like file transfer, chat, etc.
That is actually an interesting observation with your suggestion. Im an undergrad student, and I always get nice pens (not the nicest, but $20 ones). I think that a pen is better looking than a notebook comp. in class any day.
The problem may be that people whom are desensitized to this type of content don't understand the historical context of it to begin with.
I see. I pasted into the body of the message, Thanks

I think that the difference is that Peach isn't showing her labia.

Damnit... there goes my real first name.
I use Foxit Read (http://www.foxitsoftware.com/pdf/rd_intro.php) as a replacement for Acrobat Reader. It seems to be faster, and that makes me happy.
Andy
I sure did... but it was his character from Chain Reaction... Weird ;)
I haven't checked it out, but this might be what you want.

I just checked it out. Here is what Opera uses as the user agent:
"Identify as opera": Opera/8.0 (Windows NT 5.1; U; en)
"Identify as MSIE 6": Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.1; en) Opera 8.0
Thats neat, I thought it would have not advertised itself as Opera at all.

Subscribers can read (and not write to) the post, but have just as much knoweldge as anyone else about when it is going to go live.
It looks like he charged for the media and the intangible benefit of supporting an open source hacker. Nothing wrong with that really...

No, a terabyte is a thousand gigs, a petabyte is a million.

When I was sixteen and working for a university, I got busted for having a distro ftp site for a warez group. I tried that monkey excuse.... ;)
