I will let you post a message under my uid, but you don't get the ability to reply under your thread, or claim ownership of it... there is/was a contract similar in concept between Disney and Pixar. Just because Pixar has decided to split does not give them the right to void the contract.
YModem/G was my protocol of choice during local calls... My BBS had all the protocls though. I remember the list for choosing your default proto had like 25 entries in it.:) Oh well, it kept me busy...
My GOD!!! That chicken sketch was the most action packed cartoon scene I have ever seen. Right near the end when Peter says, "Chicken, gave me a bad coupon...", and it starts up again... Just thinking about that makes me laugh but I digress. I think that is one of Family Guys strengths. They keep going with stuff, and it really has an effect on me.
Well, I am sorry, but he has not committed a fallacy. The closest fallacy that I can identify that would support your claim is "argumentum ad ignorantiam". Surely he is not being ignorant of games of fresh calibur, and thus he has a legitimate point. For you to claim that his argument is fallacious, > would certainly have to present something to argue.
You have presented crap. You have in my opinion definitely stated that you are a knowledgeable person on the topics of:
a) all computer games b) punk rock
?????
Here we come to an argument. Are you authorative? Maybe you should study your text book a little more -- you are missing some things.
Given the impossibility of proving a negative, that might take rather a long time.
I think that you might be confusing some things.
For example, "all birds fly". This is universally affirming. All you have to do is find one bird that doesnt fly, and it is disproved. It still works when I say "no birds fly". I only need to find one bird that flies.
What you probably meant was that it was very difficult to prove a universal proposition all together, whether, it is positive or negative in quantity.

Yes, that battle was awesome... as was Zeromus in FF2. That was intense. But my real favorite was Link's Shadow from Adventures of Link. It was 1) COOL! 2) super hard 3) and a brilliant idea for a foe.
In my case, I am at school and use a laptop as my main box and cannot add a drive to the case. I use a WDC 80Gig disk and a external USB 2 house for it. Just the other day I bought a 180GB Maxtor on sale for like $150Ca. I wonder why "the masses" need to have network storage as opposed to what I use...
I should add that I am not anti-competitive. I am merely saying that yahoo is old, like 1990's old. Google is a teen, and like another reader pointed out, Google Labs is innovating while others are trying to catch up. (I could say another thing, but i would get modded into oblivion:) )
I don't really understand why there is this need to surpass google. The article says that Yahoo will try to "look more like the clean, simple style of Google". Redundant? I think so. I also read about HotBot in a Scientific American (i think) ad. Using "search4 technology" they want to steal some of googles thunder, when the concept behind it is the very same old meta-search. Some might disagree, but what I think we really need is more comprehensive directories like googles, so that you can search for something more complicated than "Microsoft", and still recieve relevent results.
Yahoo -was- the boss... there chance of getting a second run is gone. Who the hell was sleeping at the wheel when they started losing hits?
While that link is interesting, I don't think you understood what I was getting at. If you remove the heatsink from a fast proc, it will no doubt get hot, and I'm sure it will burn wood, melt plastic, cook breakfast, etc... But mounting a motherboard on a piece of wood is not dangerous! Air is an excellent buffer, as is wood. Air will not ignite at 370 degrees, and wood a few centimetres away also will not. Go to your local swimming pool, and ask how many times their sauna has burst into flames. Be paranoid about leaving the coffee pot on, but don't think that there is even a remote chance of a fire occuring with a properly thought-out and constructed wooden case....
Do you think that electricity ignites gasoline? There is nothing wrong with the safety of a wooden case. In fact, do you recall that televisions maybe 2 decades ago where often set in wood cabinets. Also, isn't your oven surrounded by some type of wood product?
When I was younger, I had a little farm of 386 motherboards held in with a wood rack I built. I never had problems. You might say that a 3 Ghz Pentium runs hotter than a 386, but that really doesn't matter since you do not place a block of wood on top of a CPU like you would a heatsink.
Not to insult your intelligence, but have you thought about how you would secure a motherboard to a liquid like gasoline?
This is unbelievable!! One should figure out the ratio of fresh postings to dupes...

What I do is brainstorm ideas during the time that I am not coding anything. When you write down all your ideas, visualize the structure of your code (especially if you are designing an API), it really helps when you actually sit down and start writing. I don't think that I have ever sat and wrote anything for 27 straight hours, but I have pulled all-nighters, from 8:00AM one day to 5:00 PM the next, and accomplished some things. You definitatly start to screw up after a while though.
Good luck,

I wonder why we got moderated "flamebait". Is that supposed to be funny? ;)

This is the stupid ask slashdot I've ever seen. Have you tried shoe stores? Do you want me to try shoes on for you? Come on Cliff... this is useless.

"Acadmic version" certainly doesn't imply anything but an academic version. What do you mean?
Yes. but i change the channel when commercials start.

I had to check acronymfinder... CC = Coca Cola
CC
What you are describing here are URL schemes... The article is about namespacing.
How does Mac OSX actually handle shared libraries? Are they simply not used?

Why are you anonymous? I know your being sarcastic... but you are right? :P

In other news, the letter "B" is replacing Shakespeares "Hamlet"... For some reason, that's what it sounds like to me :)

PCMods has a line of wooden cases.
Google: wooden computer case

celestia is incredible. thanks for the link.
Obviously, they were not testing audio quality, but driver performance.
