    She was obviously modelled after an attractive Japanese woman. I only have one comment to make. They have seriously got to do something about those man hands. I understand there are limits to the current technology but all that effort was put into making her look real and they have utter failure because of the man hands.

    Just so you're aware, they only drive on the left in the UK. I'm not sure about Ireland. I was shocked myself when I moved to Europe. Everyone drives on the right/correct side of the road :o)

    Unfortunately, the price is just too high to justify. The effort required to customize a linux installation is well worth 99 eur in my opinion. If they survive, I may try them in the future but not right now.

    It seems like every bit of political news I get these days makes me think a little bit more about not going back. It saddens me to say this but it's true. Apathy is killing our country. We need to remind people that our empire is not unlike others before. They all fell apart. Ours will too.

    the pay rate isn't great when you compare it to us dollars but prague is a hot bed of it demand. you could probably land a job with sun pretty quickly. because the cost of living is so much lower, companies want to hire as many eastern european workers as possible.

    It's obvious from looking at the pictures what may or may not be a dangerous object. This is a perfect application for AI based pattern recognition. When the system says that someone needs looked at, then it could be viewed by human eyes, followed by a strip search if deemed necessary. If done like this, it would actually be much less invasive than current body patting and be quite safe.

    I wasn't accusing VMs of being poor. It just seems like a lot of the effort of porting from one byte-code to another to use an already available VM would be better served by producing a native VM. Perhaps I'm wrong and it is just too complicated to mess with right now. My point is that it is an additional and unnecessary layer, not an attack on the use of a VM.

    you know, i used to have a 'backup' of that but never got around to playing it. my roommates and i were too busy tweaking our cars in some racing game that i can't remember the name of right now. i may see if my now former roommate still has it and is willing to mail it. i can always load up ps1 emulator for that. thanks for the suggestion :o)

    i think you miss the point of the statement. it must be software that, through usage, causes the protective company to attempt mass lawsuits or (rather and) die. when it is proven that it is to the benefit of the people to remove criminal liability, when it is shown that X representative in Y constituency will lose all of his voters because the people want these laws removed, then it will change. until this happens, we will continue to be at the feet of corporations. i could be wrong about how to get out of the mess that keeps getting worse; i honestly hope i am. additionally, you may be right about no one using it but we have to hope and try anyway because, as i see it, it's the only option we have (aside from praying that the eu parliament rejects the bill).

    i think it's a general slavic thing. corruption is rampant here in the czech republic where i live and you hear people say the same things about other slavic countries. it's probably remnants of USSR corruption as the cause but it's still pretty visible.

    servers aren't the only issue. you can rest assured that if one lives within the patent zone and is proven to provide patent protected code, they will be sued. i can't comment on the legality of it but i can say that i believe the corruptorations will find a way to do it. additionally, who will protect the end-users? i wouldn't be surprised if the BSA becomes an enforcing arm of sofware patents as well.

    inspire looks all you want intel. until you can inspire a price competitive with the mac mini, it's not going anywhere. i won't say the mac mini is the be-all end-all but, in my opinion, it's pretty hefty competition.

    Ideas, unlike goods, cannot be stolen. They can be copied. Rights granted over those ideas can be infringed upon but they cannot be stolen. Theft is something from the material world. You can only steal something which someone physically possesses.
