You totally underestimate the trolls on Slashdot. I've been patrolling the troll underground for a while now, and I can tell you a few things about them. They are very smart; many of the +5 regulars are well-known or anonymous trolls. They are larger in number than you think. They cannot be stopped. You can only hope to contain them.
This is not unlike the war on terrorism. Trolls engage in unconventional warfare. Slashdot minions are bound by certain rules and regulations, and though they do control the battlefield the trolls still get occasional victories. But the trolls will never give up. They will fight, to the perm-ban if necessary. There is no greater honor for a troll than to be a martyr. This is a war that will never end; you will suffer many casualties.
When the trolls capture michael or timothy, they will make Nick Berg's execution look like children's television.
