With such fantastic quotes such as; John McClane: A hundred million terrorists in the world and I gotta kill one with feet smaller than my sister. Supervisor: Attention, whoever you are. Its called Tinnitus.
    I have tinnitus
(I used to have it then it went away... then I was exposed to more loud noises and it came back)

I went to a Tinnitus specialist (Ear Nose and throat) and got my hearing tested. I have an above average hearing. However I hear ringing in my ears. After you are exposed to loud noise (usually amplified music) sometimes you can hear a almost like putting your ear on a shell... Its like a blowing noise...
(people who go clubbing know this)

This initial noise can go away... However sometimes if you are stressed out your mind will hear this noise and it will asume that you need to hear it. Because thoes actual hairs in your ear are now damanged and your mind keeps the sound. Then you will hear the 'ringing noise' in your ears when there is no other noise avaliable.

This old Russian doctor who I saw told me this:
"your brain is like a computer, there is no problem with your hardware, this is a software error. You need to learn how to ignore it" (this guy was like 70 years old, really neat old guy)

The only way to stop it is to releax and have a background noise. If you pay attention to the noise you will get extremely stressed out and it will become worse.

Your ears will also become more sensitive to louder noises, not really its just that you think to your self loud noise bad.

NOW the reason people listen (like loud music), your brain percieves the pain in your ears due to the loud noise. It then releases a chemical in your brain that is similar to morphine.
    (according to the doctor)

  9. I also took the dive. on PowerBook G4 SuperDrive Speed Bump Hack · · Score: 5, Informative

I installed this on my 12" PowerBook.
This is great! Now I can finaly burn to DVD-RW and the speed increases are also pretty cool. I haven't noticed any side effects as of yet (i don't think it would be a good idea to burn a DVD-R faster if your laptop is on the blanket ;) ). Pitty that it doesn't enable a region free player or enable the DVD-Ram.

It is possible to also downgrade the drive back to its original DOCB. You are however not able to do this on a 17" PowerBook. There is no real increase for the 17" PB except now I think you can burn 2x DVD-R. Therefore I would not really recomend people with 17" PBs to do this.

  15. In the outback on CDMA vs. GSM in Post-war Iraq · · Score: 1

In the outback (or deseret) CDMA is much better than GSM. GSM does not work over as long of distance. CDMA can work over long distances. CDMA signal strenth is supreme to that of GSM over long distances. With CDMA phones i think the wave length is much longer and there for travells better. It also works better in vallys and in mounternous regions. CDMA phones can also access more than one tower at a single time to boost there signal. I have heard someone say that the CDMA tower can also alter its signal strenght to certain phones if they are far away. (heard this don't flame me if I am mistaken) In a post war Iraq it would be a much better investment to go with CDMA.

Soon as you take that thing off road, the spokes will start moving around and the while will become un-balanced. I doubt that the bike would be balanced. IE a good center of gravity. With the engine in the frame it will have to much weight up the front, or the back. It could also be top heavy. :( They should have built the motor into one of thoes 'cruzin' bikes that people ride up and down at the beach. (
