    Mac OS_X is the best unix variant on the market for client use. it has a fucntional GUI that comercial vendors are actually writting apps for and it supports serveral languages including two variations of chinese.

    English, French, German, Japanese, Spanish, Italian, Dutch, Danish, Swedish, Norwegian, Finnish, Brazilian-Portuguese, Traditional Chinese, Simplified Chinese, and Korean

    What i think will be funny is when small college radio stations start playing these looped files, and it makes everyone look bad.

    The record companies need to come to the party not hold onto the ball and refuse to play.

    So i am a techie fan of moby and i did get a copy of this from my friend.

    BUT, I usually only do this to see what the album is like before i buy it, because MP3's dont really get all of the musical information (because im a techie i know this).

    This album really sucks and i knew it before i bought it. That this the reason i didnt buy 18!!

    I don t mean to sound paranoid but wouldn't it make more since if a virus company just hired an offshore team to create new viri that only they had the antidote too?

    Think about it, they could send it out in junk mail (which everyone gets).

    Well ok this evil plan works only if your using a Microshaft based email client or a Microshaft OS.....

    Of course MickEysoft knows best!! If qualified Windows administrators can't handle sealing windows MickeySoft will do it for you. Just dont question it and when they have emergency patches believe them when they say they are doing the 'BEST' they can.

    I would assume as soon as all the functionality and mods are available Apple will begin to look at it. Not until then, IE MOD_PERL, they need to rewrite the WebObjects include too.

    in my experience DSL is worth than a modem at times and the phone company that provide all the lines are never responsive when they have an issue to deal with.

    Let DSL choke and die, long live cable modems and broadband wireless.

    1) Apples core market is the lowest common denominator not the geek. (grandma doesnt build her computer)
    2) Apple sells a 'SYSTEM' and an experience (dont expect pc users to understand this. for the real UNIX guys think Sun E10k without solaris, or an S80 with all the extras without AIX.

    seems like apple could throw some of its AppleWorks developers at this and get it done in 6 months or so.

    This would be a universal value to all of its customers, That being said i understand now that SUN is charging for the next version StarOffice why a buisness wouldnt jump headlong into helping another buisness out.

    I love OS_X i have recently switched to OS_X from many years with windows. If i were a more advanced developer i would help but i wouldnt want to use my code.

    Anyone know what the status of the OS_X port is ? I know star division was supporting Mac OS.

    I love Mac OS-X, i am a UNIX geek and i really like linux. But i have to get work done and i can interopperate with the buisness world on a g3 notebook running OS_X pretty well.

    as far as gnome and kde, one does run on OS_X with the help of fink and that is GNOME, i would really like to see the day that KDE runs on OS_X as well.
