Here is an interview with Nintendo regarding Hunters. The relevant part is: IGN: With multiplayer being Metroid Prime Hunter's focus, and Nintendo's stance on going online with its Nintendo DS software, what can you tell us about the possibility of this game going online? Kensuke Tanabe: Unfortunately, the game won't support the multiplayer internet function of the Nintendo DS. To do it, it's not that easy and we'd have to build the infrastructure for it to work properly. The timing of the game release and the building of the infrastructure just didn't match. So while it won't be online, multiplayer will still be very very fun.

I'm curious, what demographic currently own the majority of GBAs? The PSP is a well built machine, but it seems like the primary market for the product would be different from the GBA (I have no clue what the DS is aiming for).

For one the $250 price tag is going to turn off quite a few people shopping around for presents for their kids. It also doesn't seem well built for travel, I'm not talking about battery life, but durability. I would not want to drop this thing any distance, it just doesn't feel nearly as solid as a GBA or DS (especially since it has moving parts). I read something on IGN the other day that summed up what I thought nicely. The PSP is the better overall system, but the DS is the better handheld.

All that being said, I'm enjoying both the DS and the PSP. The DS is currently pretty weak on games, but there are a lot of games coming out for it that I am looking forward to. I think the PSP will take some of Nintendo's handheld market and pull in others that weren't interested before, but I don't think it will put a serious dent in Nintendo's marketshare.

I installed the extension to see what exactly it was and for the most part it seems to keep the browser the same. There is an added "MySpeakeasy" menu item, that has various links to sites and a new status indicator on the menu bar (not sure what it's called) replacing the original Firefox one. Other than that it appears to be exactly the same.

I'm curious, when did you go into Best Buy and their workers were paid commissions? The reason I ask, is, I was an employee there around a year ago and their big line was that no one in the store earned a commission so it was a much more comfortable environment for the consumer since it didn't really make a difference to the salesman if they sold an item. I was working in computer sales at the time and I certainly didn't earn a commission. Though that didn't help the customer since if we failed to sell a computer or didn't get a service plan we could expect a 20 minute lecture on it. Was this a recent move by Best Buy or is it decided on a store to store basis?

The purchased iTMS files can be burned to CD as a standard CD audio file. They cannot be automatically converted to MP3, you can however rip the CD you burned to mp3 format if you wish. Some quality will be lost of course, however (I'm not an audiophile mind you) I've found the music to be quite acceptable even after it has been ripped from CD.

I am very disturbed that a private company has the ability to monitor us like this, while encryption would certainly deal with the problem, I don't think EVERYTHING I do should need to be encrypted. I would think that current laws would prohibit the use of this technology on a wide scale. If they don't then I would hope companies would know better than to use this to monitor what people are doing in their private lives. If they want to monitor the websites I go to they are welcome to try, but if they try to monitor my email, regardless if its encrypted or not, they are going over the line.
