You are 100% correct, GC does have games in 480p and widescreen. So does Xbox. But the article says that Xbox has HDTV (480p/= HDTV), which is not correct as of this time. Saying that GC or PS2 is beneath XBox is not fair. At this point, the "quality" is even, at best.
Cheers,
Josh
I have Star Wars for GC and it does not support 720p, only 480p. Please provide reference to this fact and these other games for GC.
I hope you are correct, but sadly, it is just not so =(
The article states that "...many Xbox games are in HDTV and progressive scan", and then goes on to put down PS2 and Gamecube because of their lack of such games.
However, no HDTV games exist for Xbox. Yes, they have some in 480p, and several in 16:9, but no 720p or 1080i games. TestDrive was rumored to be 1080i, but lets face it, that box is going to have problems pushing that res and a respectable frame rate. On paper it may be possible, but we have yet to see it.
The article unfairly puts down PS2 and GC.
Cheers,
Josh
I know I'd want to know, but what if you find out something that you can't do anything about? Maybe I don't want to know... Good thing I can't afford it.
Myself and a friend picked up a Jaguar each at a reduced price. Never used them, we figure we would return them for credit on something else. The people didn't want to give us credit, they gave us a cash refund (I'm pretty sure this doesn't happen anymore). However, they gave us 3x what we paid for them. "That's what the computer says, take the money". Thanks Atari.
I know how you feel, you want it - It might not be that important, but you just want to finish. I did it, and then went back again for a graduate degree. I just had to suck it up, reduce my free time, and get it done. You'll be so happy once you are finished...
Thank you!!! Freeware just didn't cut it for some installations. We were happy to pay for the product, but then NAI dumps it... The time between owners will hurt PGP, but the damage shouldn't be too bad. Now if Meta and the like will start to recommend it...
Well, ours was not as cool, but we tried as hard as we could. We used World Tool Kit on a Sparc 5, and the Polyhemus tracking system stuck on the end of a plastic Lightsaber toy. Graphics not quite up to snuff, but fun. Wow, almost ten years ago now. Feel somewhat old.
I've used the current version that has a 15.7" screen. I was surprised by the weight, it was not bad at all. My ThinkPad A21 with a 15.1" is worse.
The Sony was rather thin, had a great keyboard, and I was surprised at the usefulness of the jog dial control. Even at Circuit City or Best Buy, the Sony is priced attractively. I would seriously consider the Sony if work did not provide the ThinkPad.
Even the geek public did not want (in enough quantity) the Empeg/Rio Car. A better unit (as far as geeks go, because it has ethernet, Linux, can be modded to the hilt). I do not think the "public" will buy this Sony unit. Geeks will not, they already have their Empeg.
I own a chassis dyno (in PA, Sosnin.com for Slashdot discount), and if you recognize my handle, you could guess I am in to cars.
Several pieces of software exist for simulating car setups.
However, if you are modding an existing car, your simulations are not going to work very well. You best bet is reading about how others have done with similar mods. Remember that something that "adds 10 hp" on a stock car is not going to add the same 10 hp to something that is already full of mods. Trying parts out on the dyno is your best bet.
No, but it can help bring them down, reduce revenues, and allow you to be in a better position. However, I think the number of people that would steal TV would not have a huge impact.
I think the biggest impact would be the compromised system requiring replacement, which can be big $$$.
I can't see why I would use this over a normal notebook. And for those that would use such a device, isn't portability, weight, and ergonomics key features? I would love to see their thoughts on potential markets.
I went to VideoTopia in DC about 3 years back. Pretty cool, lots of games, including Space War. I was the only person in the place. No need to fight for position.
The PGP application for Outlook was really nice, users could understand it, and the price was fair. We tried to buy another pile of copies, and was told, "Sorry...".
Laptops from 3 years ago (say IBM ThinkPad 600E) are holding more value because they are still quite usable. The curve is slowing down, and much of the software of today can be run on this hardware.
Like the super sexy 20th aniv Mac? Or all of the other sexy boxes? Like the fine woods, etc? This one is perhaps the best I have ever seen, but the market for selling these at the price-point to make a profit is sadly, very small.
Lame response yes, all CD burners should be outlawed as well. But so everyone knows, it is not just a serial cable, it has the Dreamcast USB-looking end, a box with a chip in it, and a serial connection on the other end. It can also be used to rip data from the GD-ROM drive, allowing copies of Dreamcast games.
The reason it did not go through is that you bought it from LikSang. Make your own, it is simple enough.

I'm buying one.

Some faith in humanity restored. Yes, not of vital importance, but what a cool project.

300:1 contrast ratio, and no digital (DVI) inputs? Boggle...
I'd rather two 17" Planars for just over $1000.
Anyone else use a ThinkPad with 15" screen with native 1600x1200 resolution? My eyes hurt...

Now realize this is coming from a lamer who actually paid a small pile of money for a sealed Tatooine Skiff... This is just insane.

Have you guys seen the Star Wars condoms?
This is no joke!!!

Although, I would consider one of the Star Wars guitar straps for my PRS... (I know, geek...)

Do you people read the articles and associated pages? It said that the case was empty, having been stripped of all hardware.
