I'd give this a 90% chance... it is bound to happen. Why the price-drop on something that has been selling so well, and has no competition? I'd say a fair guess is to reduce stock before the new version is launched.
Ok, perhaps it is not possible in this instance, but for the vast majority of systems, you can store data as you are going through. If you KNOW the process is going to take ages, it should be implemented in code.
IANMFL, but I think that if they choose not to defend against this, it sets them up for being screwed in the future. I don't agree with it, but I understand why they do it.
I understand they had to offer the $$$ to keep people from going elsewhere. But I remember when students used to do this for free, and loved it. This is probably the most fun you will ever have, and you will look back on those years fondly. I'd love to go back and play with the toys we had in robot and VR lab.
Memories of early Nintendo Powerglove hacking... Mmmmm.
Check out the pages on building a MAME machine into an arcade cabinet. You can get the shell of an old game for as cheap as $50, then put in a lowend computer. Mmmm, machine that plays every game...
Ok, want REAL painful? I bought a stack of comic books for $2 at an auction. One of them was Amazing Fanstay #15. I sold it to buy my first computer (C=64), for about $600. Price now? Yikes...
Have you played the new Monopoly pinball table? Try to find one, it really is nice. Not perfect Williams, but it was developed by Pat Lawlor, who did Adam's Family.
I bought a new in box Cirqus Voltaire when it went on closeout. Sadly, I sold it two years ago (for much more than I had paid). I really miss the Ringmaster taunting me. If you own a game you love, never sell it!!!
You could use the Amphipod (the smallest one), and then come up with a strap and velcro, or perhaps a strong armband. I think clipping to the shorts is the best, I've run for 60+ minutes and never had a problem.
(Yes, 60 minutes is not a lot, I know....)
Suprised at the battery life, that is very respectable. However, if it has enough power to run a Microdrive, I think it would have enough power for an FM tuner.
I still think the Nomad II MG can not be beat for anyone who wants a small MP3 player, the ability to listen to radio, record radio, and record voice.
Tip of the day:
Ever had a problem with carrying change, keys, ID, or MP3 player while running, biking, or working out? Especially for an MP3 player without a belt clip? Click here, and then thank me.
Perhaps you have never been to Fatwallet.com or Anandtech's hot deals forum?
I think if you walked away with an Empeg car unit for $199 rather than the original $1k++ pricetag, you might feel otherwise.

As a history piece, from what I have read, the movie is right on. As a movie, it was pretty good really, it sure sucked me in. I enjoyed it. If you are looking to grow close to people in the story, it will not happen, as the development is really missing.
But this is not meant to be a great story, it is meant to be a telling of what really happened. And since I was not there, I can't be sure it was true. But if it was...
Here is a link to the original Philly Inquirer series. 29 chapters of what might be the real story. Read this and see the movie, then compare.
Can someone please explain to me what she gained by allowing that to print? I already know what she lost -- she lost all the companies considering moving to her PC product.
HP life cycle for machine types is great, and they do a fine job of keeping an image alive across machine types. I just don't see why she would allow that to print if they are not 100% sure that HP PC's are done for.
If people are willing to pay almost $1,000 for the new Pronto remote, and MUCH more for other remotes, I can see this selling in large numbers if the IR range was bumped up. Perhaps this device will have a serious impact on high-end remote control prices.
Try RemoteCentral for remote info/reviews.
Seems like a nice interface, and any OS will be supported in the end:

Curious about the size though. Zdnet.com has a video review.

I'm glad Training Day saw best actor nods. Yes, the film had problems, but the acting was a treat. See this movie if you missed it.
This is the best reason to apply the hack for no data sent.
Hello?!? DVD looks poor on HDTV? Ok, it might not be HDNet quality, but you watch Shrek on an HDTV screen (via DVD), and it looks amazing.
Find a friend with a progressive scan DVD player, Shrek, and an HDTV screen, and you will think differently.
Who used it to run 9 nodes of PC Express? Come on, someone out there did...

MAME does a great job with Sinistar.

Hope I can turn some people on to pinball via Virtual Pinball and PinMAME. Most of your favorite games are available. It really has come a LONG way.
Cheers!

I have the Nomad II MG in front of me, and it has 196 megs (64 built in, 128 smart media which sells for $41). Cheers, Josh
