Why would I want to copy a screenshot of a streaming video to a quicktime movie? Most content providers who stream video over the net would give you a way to save it to you hard drive if they wanted you to do that. This product is actively being advertised as a way to capture video that the providers don't want captured. This product is advertised as a way to "steal" video. This is exactly right. Patents are biased against the do-ers and towards the thinkers. You can't infringe unless you are being productive. Patents won't you protect you against an entity that make anything but patent lawsuits. ..is too much CNN. It's nothing but stories of runaway brides, missing teenagers, and the dangers of foreigners. Let me tell you a little secret. Most of the outsourcing isn't to save money, it's too get better quality. There are good developers coming out of IIT that will do a better job than the average developer you would hire off the street in the US. That the person will work for a lot less is a bonus and helps compensate for the time difference. During 2000, you could get a $70k job just by spelling C++ correctly. I'll tell you another secret, as hardware gets better and better, the number of uses for computers will increase so fast that that every competent developer in any reasonably free country with a reasonable infrastructure will be able to get a job. That means it's actually quite bad news that CS enrollment is down in this country. That simply means more of the good jobs will go overseas unless we really fix the whole immigration thing (oh yeah, that's something else CNN has totally wrong and spends an inordinate amount of time on).

In a few years, when hard disks are 5 times as large, or when another lossy format is standard, you won't be able to decompress your mp3's back to cd-quality, or change to the new format.
