"I have several designer friends that are looking forward to the speed boost of OS X 10.6 but don't want to go through the Adobe upgrades so soon after the CS2 to CS3 upgrades."
So soon? CS3 came out in March 2007.
I'm a graphic designer at Nike, and we have a little over 600 people who are on the creative side (product designers and graphic designers) and I would guess that upwards of 95% of us use Macs. As for running Boot Camp or Parallels desktop to be able to run Photoshop here on the Nike Campus, I feel confident saying it's not ever going to happen. Anyway, that's my two cents.
Although I think it's wise on one hand to delay as game such as this if it's not where they want it to be, it's also a hugh risk financially. IMHO the last really great game on the Gamecube was Resident Evil 4, which I've already played to death, so to speak. I only own one Gamecube game right now, Killer 7 which is too much of a headf*ck for me to play with any regularity. I will most likely get the Revolution and either the PS3 or 360, but due to the price I plan to sell my Xbox and Gamecube to buy said consoles. That being said I don't know if I'm willing to hang on to my Gamecube long enough to play the new Zelda.
"Children are playing a game that encourages them to have sex with prostitutes and then murder them..."
Sorry if this is redundant, but it seems that most people are completely overlooking the fact that this is a M rated video game, and is not intended for children.
Online play does matter, but that depends on the kind of game you are playing. I play Xbox Live with games like Rainbow Six: 3 (a FPS) and Project Gotham 2 (a semi-realistic racing game). However, I also like much of the Nintendo franchise (Mario, Zelda, Metroid, etc.) however, I can see why Nintendo's focus wouldn't be on online play... these games are all EXCELLENT single player games and I can't imagine wanting to play these multiplayer with a headset with the majority of the people that are playing online. Not to say that Nintendo doesn't make great multiplayer games (Zelda: Four Swords, Mario Golf, etc.) but I don't think that is their strong point.

Um, no it's not "roughly the same morals as writing a computer virus". Seriously, would you care to explain how writing malicious code that affects millions upon millions of people is similar to some kid painting on the side of a building?
I'm glad they finally launched this baby but some of the songs I wanted the most aren't on there (Sweet Exorcist: Test Tone 1-3, Wooden Spoon "Souf Souf"). Hopefully it's just a matter of time before the complete back catalog is up.

1. What "...basic rules of society" are you following?
2. What's the name of your record store so I know where NOT to shop for music.
P.S. If this is how you behave in the professional world, I hope your business fails.
Being a certified game geek, I found the article a very funny read. I'm surprised at how many of you took it seriously, or were offended at it's content (or lack thereof).
Okay, so first I want to state that this is probably not always the case, but here goes: personally, I have a poor to moderate credit rating. It used to be really poor. I mean REALLY poor. I got in over my head and went through some really hard times. Now I don't use credit cards even though I'm elegible for them. And you know what? IMHO I'm a crucial asset to my employer because I work harder than most of my co-workers. I know what it means to struggle and that mades me work my ass off. Now suppose another employee has been fed from a silver spoon his whole life and has a perfect credit rating. Does that mean he is a perfect employee? Hell no. I'm not suggesting hiring people with bad credit because they will work harder, I'm just trying to make a point.
I've been using Logic Audio Platinum for a number of years, first running under Windows 98 and then under Mac OS9. Though it has a somewhat high learning curve (setting up the environment you want, etc.) I have to say IMHO Logic Audio is far and above my favorite program for professional audio. Now that Apple is buying Emagic, hopefully they'll focus on getting a OSX version as LAP doesn't run under classic:o(
I work for a store here in Portland, OR that rents anime locally and sells it on our online store. Vids are at http://www.justbevideos.com/,and we also sell Japanese toys at http://www.justbetoys.com/ .
Sorry, don't know about lunchbox computers but what about a USB box (MOTU, Audiosport, etc)? Most all are 24 bit and have low latency. Plus, you should be able to find them for $200 and up.
Deadmau5 is clearly taking very strong inspiration from Disney and Takashi Murakami.

It's been mentioned in a previous post, but don't forget .tiff, and unless you are talking about web content, I can't imagine using the .gif format.
Don't you mean Moof?

This is a simple question, but why can't I move my character realm to realm?
I wonder how many adults who bought the game for themselves are offended by the Hot Coffee mod?

Thanks to global warming, most Portland citizens have evolved human feet now, as opposed to the fins and flippers usually associated with us...
