SlashDock does this (and I was actually surprised to find it not listed). When I do a "view digest" of these I get a web page of the feeds that I was interested in served locally. Its actually pretty cool, though I don't use it much.
because any company that is actually willing to take this stance to defend open source deserves my investment... especially one that can actually make money as well.
Two things happened in the interim though, computers/video cards became a lot faster and people started paassing tralsnated API commands to the graphics hardware. It still isn't 100% nor glitch free however.
Because if you have 10s of thousands of employees you tend to want a solution that's easy to maintain/administer. As nasty as Exchange can be at times, from an administration perspective - have a single source for this does actually make sense.
Because they are neither, they are a solutions company. They want to be able to sell you something regardless of what you want at any price point. That's a far better model than simply trying to engage some small set of customers as a mainframe company.
Java doesn't work that way. A Java program is compiled into machine independent bytecode. This bytecode is then interpreted or runtime compiled into native code by the JVM living on the host platform.
My employer has tens of thousands of employees (guess who) using the system and it has caused us no large problems. It removes moronic passwords and reduces the amount of stuff that people have to remember to their PIN number, which most people probably take from their ATM PIN anyways.
Outside of some of them breaking off of keychains, I have yet to see large problems with the system. Its one of the best authentication systems out there IMO.
If I saw in some marketing literature that my new car, computer, video card would be twice as fast as my old one as opposed to "100% work*time improvement" I'm sure I would be more likely to take notice.
There is no point in marketing something to people in a manner they can't understand. "blah times as fast" is exceedingly attractive to marketing because it easily understandable. How many times have you seen ads for cable modem or DSL that talked about being n times as fast as dialup or some other competing technology?
But I bet you have access to AIM or some other instant messaging technology, or SSH, or POP3 or an open USB/Firewire port on your machine for a thumb drive. Most of these places with no camera rules for phones have other more convenient holes that allow you to push the corporate data right to your friends.
Well one thing is for certain, we'll find out how good those 'no fraud' credit card warranties are when people start passing this data out to strangers:)
Sorry, but you're like almost 2 years behind with that comment. New phones have 1.x megapixel cameras at the LOW end. LG and Samsungboth have 3.x megapixel camera phones coming out as well.
Face it - its all getting merged into one device for most people. Within the next 18 months your 4 megapixel camera will be a feature on a camera phone or something similar to a Sony P900 or Treo600. You'd be amazed how far these phones have come - some of them are reasonable replacements for laptops for many people and the processors (currently in the 300Mhz-400Mhz range) are only getting faster.
I always find these types of comments odd by ATI. Its not like they are new to ATI. ATI has an OpenGL group, they deliver cards to platforms (like OSX) that only support OpenGL, the release tutorials and demos that run exclusively in OpenGL, and its not like Doom3 is the only game that runs OpenGL.
If what they are saying is true, they are the most bassakwards company in the space.

Quick, someone get a patent on this to block the effort!

lol, that's great! Somebody mod parent up +1 funny :)
Stop it - you'll make him cry :)
So is HTML, that didn't stop people from making fubar'd versions of it as there are now fubar'd .NET implementations.

I want to sue him, the fools at SCO and anyone else who just goes out and labels or otherwise falsely accuses me of a crime!
This was by far the funniest thing I've seen someone do to the sims in recent memory. I laughed so hard I cried.
Time travel scientist obviously worked there, had been to the future, saw it was 90+% Windows and lobbied to have it outlawed.

So while you can use the AE for many things, you cannot use it to extend the network.
Either that or the Klingon empire (planets and all) are warping away from Earth...

Your premise is not sound.

Hopefully those that remain are actually interested in computer science and not just trying to get a fat paycheck.
Its got nothing on that BitBoys card which is rumored to ship in the box with Duke Nukem Forever. :)

9 friends > 0 friends, and in this day and age we have to take the victories we can get.

Even in the short term I think I would have some issues asking someone to pee on my food so I could eat it.
