  1. Inquisition Reloaded on Software Firms Lobby for Stronger Copyright Laws · · Score: 1

In 10 years we will have death squads from RIAA/MPAA/BSA patroling through our streets, performing house raids at will and burning people who possess open source software or unprotected audi files and movies at the stake. History is repetitive - prepare for the witchhunt to come to your village soon!

  2. Morality on US CD Sales Increase in 2004 · · Score: 1

For my part I stopped buying CDs when the RIAA started suing their customers and also stopped buying DVDs when the MPAA followed their lead.

Even if the MAFIA paid the lawmakers to make BLACKMAILING legal, would still be IMMORAL.

And don't forget to let the artists know that you would really like to buy their music but don't want to support an industry that rather sues their customers. At least under german law this could turn the tables as it gives the artists the right to cancel their contracts.

So maybe we should send them Michael Moore and his witch hunting puritans.

  6. Re:Well, on RIAA Loses DMCA Subpoena Case Against Charter · · Score: 1

Music is basically only some kind of knowledge and knowledge can never be stolen, it can only be propagated.

Church tried to stand in the way of knowledge a long time ago, then there came the age of enlightenment.

  7. Re:This is more complex.... on RIAA Loses DMCA Subpoena Case Against Charter · · Score: 1

We simply cannot help these artists as long as they happily live as slaves to the music industry. For my part I decided it would be best to send them letters letting them know that you would really like to buy their music but must refuse to support an industry that rather sues their customers. At least under german law this could turn the tables as it gives the artists the legal right to cancel their contract for 'important reasons'.

  8. Re:The RIAA is being monopolistic on RIAA Loses DMCA Subpoena Case Against Charter · · Score: 1

Since the RIAA started suing their customers I stopped buying their products, the same is now true for the MPAA. Cheaper CDs and DVDs would not change this.

Even if the MAFIA paid the lawmakers to make BLACKMAILING legal, it is still IMMORAL.

  10. Re:Licence to copy? on German Court Sets Copyright Tax on New PCs · · Score: 1

Of course not, you have to pay and shut up, there are severe penalties for circumventing copy protection mechanisms.

  11. Re:This makes sense, this is good, stop ranting on German Court Sets Copyright Tax on New PCs · · Score: 1

Right now we have copy preventions systems, servere penalties for attempting to circumvent them and the government is NOT working on a solution for this problem.

  12. Fundraising on German Court Sets Copyright Tax on New PCs · · Score: 1

I guess the "VG Wort" is raising their funds in order to catch up with the legal action already going on with music and movies. Pay the tax so we can sue you for what you have already paid the tax for.

IPv4 was intended and assigned for networking big supercomputers, now every single PC got an IP address and every cellphone is going to need one. IPv6 is intended to solve this problem but from all the discussion going on it seems that they have not yet considered the future need of space colonies.

  15. Re:There is no current shortage of IPv4 addresses! on China Lights Pure IPv6 Network · · Score: 2, Informative

That's nonsense, we have already run out of IP adresses, that's why we get feature crippled 'name based virtual hosts', 'dynamic IP addresses', 'private networks with NAT',...
