does it really matter? we are talking about the military using this to find people behind walls to they can kill them more effectively. the only possible problem would be to hostages and other non-coms. so if there are non-coms in front of the wall then they are not where they should be and all hossies would be behind the wall where very little radiation will reach them.
Actually no. The situation was stable and acceptable to all involved until Apple bought their way into the mobile industry. Standard practice was to, more or less, do what one wanted as long as the others could too. Certain licensing was required and the big boys held to that, but Apple doesn't want to play with/like the rest. Which more or less means that either they all get together and put a stop to Apple or they wait it out and let Apple deal with all of them one after the other.

You aren't the only one. I switched most of my family and friends over to ubuntu over the years. After the Unity fiasco I had to disable it on ALL systems and then switch back to gnome 2. That is about 20+ systems that I had to do that with. VERY annoyed.
I posted a rather long list of complaints from all (including a few of my own) and am currently getting ready to migrate everyone over to mint or some other viable alternative.
The really bad part of it is that I was REALLY looking forward to G3. I have since lost all faith in Ubuntu and the gnome project. If it had benn 1 or the other that dropped the ball then fine. Work around the problem. But when both have their collective heads so far up the ass' that they can't see what's happening then they deserve nothing more than to be ignored and forgotten.
Seriously. If I want a mobile OS I have my smartphone and my tablet. G3 belongs, at most, on netbooks and NOT on the desktop. I don't care that most of the people that are using G3 are doing so on a laptop with a pad. That's their problem. I have a laptop with a dock/replicator and 3 external monitors for my work. G3 just don't cut it for real work.
I'm not even gonna start on the whole alt-key topic. It's just not worth my time anymore.
I didn't wanna say anything. I thought maybe it was one of those 4 a.m. drunk of his ass posts that would just embarrass him the next day. I don't like to kick people (much) when they're down.;)
... if I'm the only one that has been waiting on this move from Amazon since they started building up their cloud services.
Think about it. they have been building up media services forever and then the cloud services. I was talking about this last year with friends and now it's here.
And the killer is they did it even better than that fruit company did it with about the same hardware basis that the fruit company first brought out. wanna bet it gets a revamp with the next release?
The only thing that could kill the deal is the quality of the Fire. Is it a remake of the 1&1 smartpad only slimmer or more like a trimed down Galaxy? Just offer the Fire in a few differing bundles (music bundled with or books or films) and it could just put a hurt on an already flooded market.
The way I see it is simple. ZeniMax Media is the one behind the lawsuit. And if it is about ZeniMax trying to bully an indie around then it's time to really send them a message.
Boycotting Bethesda is one way. Another way is to boycott all the ZeniMax subsidiaries.

Does anyone know of any other holdings? If everyone were to hold to the list that would hurt them more than anything else. However, we all know that won't happen because some ppl are just plain addicted or don't care.
To be honest I don't regret not buying from any of them (except maybe the upcoming release of Rage from id) even though I was a fan of id since before the "politically correct" quote was made.
I was born and raised in the U.S. and know how crappy the health care system is. A lot of people I knew went into the military because that was a major factor in the decision process (that and educational opportunities were very important).
I have been in Germany for, approximately, 20 years now and I must say the health care system here is also screwed up but better than the system in the U.S. By several magnitudes of better. O.K. I have to pay 10 € every 3 months if I want/need to visit my Doctor, but hey that isn't soooo bad. At least I'm not going to be treated by an impersonal online virtual Doctor any time soon.
Sorry, did I miss something here? Could you please elaborate on your claim? I would be most interested to learn how MySQL does not qualify as an SQL RDBMS.
And as for your link. It even states that MySQL is one of the actual SQL RDBMS' available and not a noSQL sysstem.
I'm not so sure about that. I get the feeling that it is more true today than before.
Just look at some of the competing Projects out there. Some are obviously dying a slow death and the devs just won't let it go. But hey, you never know. They could just make a comeback in a few months/years time.
Our son (8) has a handy that is completely locked down. He cannot make a call unless it is to us or 911 and cannot receive a call unless from us. Our daughter will have the same type of service when she gets older as well.
Once our son is 12 or 13 I will loosen up the plan a bit, but until then he stays on a tether.
I should have clarified my answer a bit better. I basically agree with the IKEA effect only.
Whether it's OS or commercial software doesn't matter. The effect is the same and is purely a matter of context.
I have coded in both areas and have noticed this effect, not only in myself but others as well. And depending on how involved one is in the Project determines also how emphatic one is regarding the Project and thus determining the degree of the IKEA effect in play.
this is most assuredly true. I have noticed this tendency in myself over the years and have, at times, been hard pressed to see the other side of the coin.
Woman, 83, survives after Berlin Euthanasian coaster accident January 11, 2021|By Charles Williams, AP
It was supposed to be the final outing for the 83-year-old woman, but a ride on a euthanasia coaster at an indoor Euthanasia park in Berlin proved non-fatal.
Sandra Leber, 83, survived Sunday night at 7th Heaven while riding a coaster called “Good to the Last Drop”, authorities said.
The woman, who was seated near the front of the coaster, managed to get her breath between the 2nd and 3rd looping during the ride. According to park director, Markus Baum, such an occurrence has never before happened in the history of the park.
It is believed the woman met all the requirements for the ride, Baum said.
Leber is expected to undergo a full physical to confirm that her ill health has not been adversely affected by the incident.
"It was scary as hell," Leber told reporters. "but I am determined to give it another go as soon as my physician gives me permission. I just can't believe that I actually lived through it is all... I have noticed that my fear of heights is no longer a problem though."
"I've never seen anything like it," Baum said. "It was just a day at work like any other and then this. The coaster operator has since handed in his resignation and will be treated for psychological trauma."
The indoor euthanasia park for the terminally ill has been open about 3 years, Baum said Sunday.
"I just want to say how tragic this is and how bad I feel for the family," he said. "We're going to 100 percent cooperate with all the various authorities in the investigation."
He declined to speak about the condition of the coaster.
The Berlin Department of Health, which regulates euthanasia park rides, dispatched an investigator to immediately after the incident, spokeswoman Anke Strauss said. She declined to speak specifically about the current investigation.
