We already have that available
The local telco - MTS had this rolled out last year
From what people say it is great and beats anything that the local cable comps. have
'way ahead of the curve, way ahead"
the standard anywhere where the users want a full controll of the page formating
I have had to use and support versions of WP from 5.1 (dos) to the 2000 windows and no MS Word product would give us the usability and formating capabilities that WP has.
Ask around any Law , Accounting and etc office that needs to rely on standard formating for documents is still using WP as the main stay of word processing
it DOES happen
boy my face was red when I had to explain to my client (small office server) why two drives in RAID one config failed on the same day at the same time lossing about 1 days worth of data (failed b4 that nights backup run)
so much for the "redundancy" crap - never ever buy WD drives - they are crap
the valves are built in such manner that if there is a slow leak it will allow it to happen but if the fitting is ripped of the valave will shut down and prevent a rapid evaporation of propane.
what you are ref. to is a safety valve that will allow buidup of presure to escape the tank in a controlled manner
ps>I can't sp so bear with me
Few years back I had a dual fule Oldsmobile and it was working very very well. The fill up were no problem since most of gas stations in Canada do indeed have propane available at all times. Also it was much much cheaper to run a vehicle on propane.
As for your idea of having your own "bulk" tank in the backyard I don't think it is possible. To fill up a car you need to have a certification at least here in Canada.
For the people that say propane is explosive and might be a danger to the public if you have big "bulk" tanks I had a guy show me how to extinguish fire with liquid propane. It worked. Apparently propane has much higher ignition point then reg gas it is a lot safer to use. Plus all the tanks in the vehicles have safety devices that will prevent leaks from the tank unless the tank itself is physically damaged.
Totaly agree with your post
Here in Manitoba we have a new health care agency that even tho is not operational yet ( and it will not be for another 1 year or 2) it already is spending majority of its funds on administration. Administration of what? The Canadian system, while in principal a good idea needs to be looked at more closely and people running it should be held accountable for everything they do. Will this happen? hell no, the administration will do anything in its power to slow down and prevent any change that might put them out of work.
Well the monitor is basically a "ray gun' that emits the electrons (some1 correct me here since I haven't looked at my physics books in over a decade) right at you. There has got to be some damage that the body suffers from the prolonged exposure to monitors being either your TV or computer screen or.....
As for the electric shavers / blow dryers etc. what about the regular phones, clock radios, calculators, heating elements,....(fill in your favourite electric tool/gizmo here)?
Hell u can take the licenses away and they will still drive . License is just a piece of paper / plastic with a fine attached to it if u drive with out it.
The Idea is interesting however the "big" brother approach will not do, scoze the people that never drink and drive will revolt and sue the pants out of every one attempting to bring such a law into existence
Why ? because the RIAA has the legal system paid off
It sux but in a country where the "big" business has more to say than the people living there odds are way against such action.
Don't get me wrong I would love to see this suite go forward and have her on the winning side, but on the other side of the spectrum I am a pessimist and all i can see is the dark clouds of RIAA
And what's worse they are coming to my country - Canadians - don't let them win
if Tom's did a comparison of other cpus vs intel x86 cpus for the last 10 or 15 years.
I mean great we have a line up of x86 cpus and what they can and can not do, but it would be interesting to c benchmarks comparing lets say motorola vs intel vs ibm cpus
so if we don't kill animals then it is OK to eat them ? I mean why don't we just walk up to a cow and cut out a nice peace of steak or what not, let the animal suffer while we eat the steak.
Besides, if it is inhumane to Kill animals why is it humane to Kill plants? because they (plants) don't have eyes, mouth and don't make sound it is A Ok to Kill them and eat them??
Last time I checked the Star/open office was built using Java, hence the slow startup performance. Also the MS Offcie is preloaded at the start time and that is why it loads almost instantly or so it seems. I remember reading some performance reviews some time ago talking specifically about that.
Maybe someone here can collaborate this?
Now will this exploit work with IE6 or 5.5 running in Wine? Did/can anyone check this?
Also IMHO if the company like Microsoft is irresponsive to security holes in their programs the people that discover those holes have every right to publish them. Then and maybe then the vendor will do something because it is forced to do it.
Some common sense. I mean cmon if quacks like a duck, looks like a duck it must be a duck.
As for myself I would love to see some of the major computer makers (Dell, Gateway, Compaq, IBM) start pushing Linux and other OSes with their hardware.
well the vets were proli using the manual system then the mainframe came in, then the pcs with dos (ms, dr) then windows 1,2,3, 3.11 etc. then in 95 the win95.( they are still on win95)
What I am saying is that those ppl are set (even entrenched) in MS ways of doing things. Now the EU is a relatively new organization that had little if any time to organize the administrative back bone so it would be IMHO relatively easy to switch from ms to any other os and app combo.
but what they will have to contend the most is the migration of users to a new way do doing things in the linux os and any and all the applications that will run on it.
I work for a large City (municipal) government and let me tell you just changing from windows 95 to windows 2000 caused chaos and havoc in my department. There are ppl here that worked for the city for more than 30 years and are so bloody entrenched in doing things their own way it is unbelievable.
Now the EU has a good chance of migrating since (and this an assumption) the workers didn't have much time to get set in MS way of doing things

Dude
Jet fuel has far less octane then your average gasoline
Try saying "it is like nitro in 1984 Capri..."

If given and chance and given the years it took me to become Professional accountant I would definitively change my carrier path.
Heck if someone paid me what I am making right now to go to school to requalify to say a doctor or engineer or whatever I would probably do it
Why ?
Scoze it is a challenge and I like challenges and learning about new "stuff"
I may change my career in the next 10 years. It is always a consideration
I bet Bill G is already thinking how to make internet and windows 2204 available on Mars.

"two nuclear catastrophies" ??? You mean like one nuclear atrocity and an accident? The Hiroshima was hardly a catastrophy
At least he gives the credit to the original creator where it is due. Does the MS give him or Dyson a credit for their concepts????????

those seem to be sold without any OS and look like a decent notebooks - also there is quite a variety of them oferred for sale.
Try www.computerboulevard.ca for some Canadian pricing.
they had locked up in a box in Pulp Fiction movie?
I thought so
Right and the folks who developed windows code base and applications for M$ are highly professional?
what about the hidden games in MS Office and developers fun page in one of windows OSes?
talking bout "highly professional" developers here!!!!!!
