    This was the idea when Netscape originally released the source in 1998. Because so much of the code was proprietary, it came out with gaping chunks missing. It's just shame it was wedged straight back in again, and not put to one side as standalone products.

    VAT is being charged by ebay, on their charges, not on the goods being sold.

    The tax is paid on the service ebay provides, not the goods that it allows to be sold through it.

    This is old news, but Ebay customers are *not* happy.

    I know a couple that have hiked postage costs to cover their extra expenditure, and it looks like ebid.com have recieved those customers that have abandoned ship. Customers are also angry that Ebay have claimed to have dropped other prices to compensate, when they blatantly haven't....

    I bet i get marked as a troll, but I bet if this was Red hat Network Update, you wouldn't be winging.

    I have had windows update tell me that i'm clean, when i've only just done a fresh install, but i don't take it personally, you'd only complain if it examined every bit of your disk to ensure that it got it right... make your minds up people!!

    well, most windows processes refuse to be killed, unless you use one of the API exploiters such as kill.exe. Sophos has an install option to prevent removal, but i don't think this goes as far as shutting it down.

    actually, i've been using it for three years, on whatever hardware i've had at the time. and i can guarantee, it does *not* work on my mates new laptop. neither was it too happy with an old AST box of mine, but largely, it's been okay.

    either that, or we'll see a lot more drivers being developed, which is a good thing as well. But lets hope the people with the resources (ie. fujitsu) take the lead first... the OS crowd have better things to do at the mo'..

    this has been fixed for years. although interestingly, cheswick and bellovin rewrote the mailer to respond to this attack, but the commands are mailed to the admin. it was released with System V, and is demonstrated in their 'berferd' incident.

    only hope that fujitsu have improved their hardware choices. they were our standard platform for years before we moved to dell, on the basis that nothing would ever be recognised with the exact drivers that shipped with the system. Video cards being the worst... and we all know what linux is like with odd hardware... or is that just my mate and his new laptop. did he swear.....
