    egrep is more useful than grep
    netcat (nc) is more better than telnet

    Some people put their ideals first (before debt etc) and those ideals end up benefitting many people, often much more than that persons original debt. That same person then may go on to influence "the system" in other ways, without more self sacrific, but that original sacrifice may well have been necessary.

    Just a thought. I'm not disagreeing with you either. And my spelling is probably atroshish :)

    You should detect IE, send them to a page letting the user know they are using a dangerous browser offering links to alternative browsers (FireFox, Opera etc)

    god doesn't use LCD, he's got holographics to the max. Have you ever tried turning off services on a Windows box, it's a nightmare. It's easy in *nix.

    summarize subject lines wtf??? How can you summarise a subject line, it's one line in the header of an email... allow you to delete before reading Client side software that can do this aswell, not just webmail, webmail is still a client -it just doesn't reside ont the users PC.

    No. The GPL enforces that everything is given back.

    You meant g3nt00, surely? Gentoo is actually a very good distribution, very well documented. There is a lot of useful information in their forums aswell, just a matter of sifting out the good stuff. Pitty emerge sync's take so long though.

    If MTA's on the Internet required the forward and reverse DNS lookups to match ~70% of spam (and viruses) would disappear. This requires ISP's to correcty configure their DNS, which unfortunately doesn't happen because people are lazy.
