The Apex player from Wal-Mart is definitely worth it. I bought mine about 2 months ago to replace my two year old Philips DVD player. The Apex player can play MP3s, Mpegs, burned DVDs, etc.
Any experts ouit there able to explain why they don't shield the cabin?
One simple word: money. Much cheaper to just leave the planes like they are and make the passengers suffer, than it is to fix the planes and make the passengers happy. Either way they'll continue to get your business.
Moteran and MeshNetworks are able to offer connection speeds of up to 6Mbps, over a hundred times faster than dial-up.
Not only is it so fast, but it runs over conventional 802.11b. I hope this becomes widespread enough so I can get it up here in the middle of nowhere North Dakota.
The question is with wireless internet getting this fast I wonder if we'll start to see outdoor LAN parties???
...... ok so probably not.
I know this because I remember thinking, WHY THE F*CK ARE THEY BUYING NAPSTER?
I highly doubt they bought Napster for anything other than the name. I mean the software wasn't all that great and it defintely wasn't set up to handle a subscription based service.
Bertelsmann figured that if they had the Napster name, people would flock to their new service. Boy were they wrong.
I honestly find myself worrying more about E-terrorism than I do about some crazy person hijacking a plane I'm on.
The effects of an e-terrorism attackw would certainly be much more widespread than a conventional terrorist attack. Nearly everything that we depend on in day to day life can be hacked. It's scary thought to have some ill-minded take control of the Hoover Dam or a nuclear power plant.
For me to go out and buy a Mac today, I would want it to be close to a PC in price. I know that Apple has a lot of proprietary hardware and software and that you defintely get your $$ worth at $2,000 but still.
I know that if a new G4 was $750, I'd go out and buy one, along with many other people.
The next smart business move would be for Apple to drop prices affordable to most people. If I could afford it, I would rather work on a Mac.
They tend to be more stable and not to mention they are usually cool looking. Plus most Windows programs I use are available for Mac, too.
It will make people like Apple for one. Think about it. Microsoft never open-sourced anything and everyone hates them. By having the code out in the ope and letting the users modify the code it opens a whole bunch of possibilites.
Slashdot had a story about somebody using the 3M stuff and it did freeze up once they got it cold enough. I believe the story said that the 3M stuff turned to a jelly.
I also believe they had liquid nitrogen going through cooling tubes to cool the 3M liquid.
But will the people who don't have the latest and greatest technology really jump onto the videophone wave? I kind of doubt it. Right now it seems to be one of those cool impress your friends tech toys.
I understand that videophones may have their useful applications in some instances, but it seems that it would be cheaper to have a broadband connection and a $30 netcam.
Not only would the quality be better but it would be a lot cheaper.
Yes, I know that the broadband and a netcam setup isn't always available but it's just my two cents.
What I never understood is what gives musicians and actors the right to millions of dollars? What gives corporations the right to all this money? Last time I checked actors and musicians were just like you and I. So what if their works are heard and seen around the world, guess what, more than one programmer has a made a piece of software that has been used worldwide, but he gets very little for it. Being famous doesn't entitle these people to oodles and oodles of money. And the RIAA shouldn't get shitloads of money either. Every industry deals with piracy and counterfeiting. There are sweatshops that make imitation designer clothes. Do they often get shut down? No. Do the people that purchase these fake clothes get arrested? No. Then why is it when one person downloads something that can be heard on a free source such as the radio, gets in some serious trouble. Like an earlier poster said how fucked are our laws when we can get 5 years in jail for downloading some music or a movie but if you kill somebody unintentionally you only get 2 or 3 years? That truly is fucked.
However, initial versions of Mandrake made very little more than cosmetic changes to Redhat. The only differences were things like the logo and some other minor things.
Did Mandrake ever have spyware and adware to try to make money off of other people's work? I think not....
to look the product up at RadioShack.com, here is a direct link to the Micro RC Porsche 911 Car. Product No. 60-7001
For only $20, I think it'd be a fun toy for any geek, girl or boy.
Compaq computer? Oh dear god get away from it before it explodes. Ohh you said compact computer, nevermind then.

Umm, it's obviously pretty likely since Sega has games on both the Gameboy Advance and the Gamecube, which are both Nintendo systems.

and I can finger my microwave
That is undoubtedly the most disturbing thing I've ever heard in my life.
Whew! Dude, thank Gawd! I, for one, am so freakin sick and tired of dealing with wet PS2s!
somebody mod this up!! that's the best laugh i've had today

If some e-terrorist was to take control of a dam near you and decided to open all the flood gates, don't you think that would inevitably kill people?

Its actually not a DVI connector. It's an ADC connector.

Same reason people go out of their way to criticize somebody's criticizing of somebody else.
Those are some interesting coffee makers you got on that website.
