The whole point of a blog is to discuss issues and offer contrasting views. The only thing congress can do is break the balance that already exists. When lawmakers start to call for balance where balance already exists you have to ask yourself, "Am I getting value for the dollars I'm paying these people?"
Put a treadmill in front of your computer instead of a chair. The Masai have a high fat, high protein diet just like North Americans but they don't get heart disease as a result. The recently discovered reason is that they walk and stay on their feet all the time. No word on their fix for fallen arches though.
I've had Netgear, Linksys and Dlink and they all needed frequent reboots and they all died after about a year. My Belkin wifi/switch almost never needs rebooting and it's been running constantly for 4 years. It was also the cheapest of the lot.
I built a little homebrew ir receiver that runs on the serial port. There are only 5 components that are easy to get and easy to solder together. Plans are linked on the homepage www.lirc.org
Comcast should be censured for it's behaviour but it's Amerika, if you've got money, it doesn't matter what you do. That's what's really wrong with America too.
Apple users will be using one set of gestures and the other 95% of the population will be using another set. So kids will grow up knowing the gestures almost everyone uses and they will not choose Apple products because of the foreign user interface. This guarantees Apple's failure in the future.
They both use DRM which means when it breaks, you lose your investment in those books. The only reader you should buy is one that uses only standard files like pdf to store it's content so you can read it again in a few years with a new reader.
I'm not investing in another platform designed to remove my fair use rights. If the entertainment industry doesn't want to distribute their products in easy to use file formats without DRM, I'm not interested in their products. How many bad movies have I paid to see over the years and felt cheated at not being able to get my money back. There are better ways to entertain myself than watching my rights drain away. Sony is obviously doing Betamax II just so the next generation can enjoy a Sony bomb too.
The recording industry is going drive open source developers to write music engines that generate new music in any genre on the fly. That will put the last nail in the coffin of a dying industry. It's so sad it didn't happen suddenly. Now we have to watch this awful writhing and wailing.
The laptop was designed to be unusable, that's why it had Vista installed. If you can't use it, it won't break. By installing an operating system that could make use of the hardware, you subjected the laptop to use it was not designed to take and voided the warranty. If you read the EULA closely you'll see that any computer with Vista installed is not actually intended to be used.
Isn't that an oxymoron? With multiple cores does it give a full color screen of death?
Print out all the binary information on acid free paper so it can be optically scanned in 25 or 2500 years.

You can only be granted copyrights on a work you created. Misguided as America may be, they definitely didn't create the earth.

Two things Microsoft has never had, good ideas and scruples.

They obviously don't have enough to do.
The label's business model isn't needed any more. These are their death throes.
More like they don't want to be involved in what SCO is planning next. They don't want to go to jail!

The DoJ seems to have become and arm of corporate america. Freedom was nice while it lasted. Bye!
Squawk!
That seems like the simplest explanation, but I'm not an astronomer.
