You post a link to a phony interview dated 1995 and pass it off as a representation of Microsoft's current position on making quality software. Did you guys even read this article?
Bill Gates is the richest man in the world, yet this "interview" reads like it was conducted with the hobo that collects soda cans from my trash.
The reason AOL is losing business is because anyone with half a brain sees that for $29.95 they can get cable or DSL. Once you've gotten a taste of always-on broadband, who would want measly 56k for almost the same price? AOL charges $23.95 for crumby dialup! And anyone can use AOL Instant Messenger to IM their AOL and internet buddies!
What are they offering me? Once cable was available in my area I made the switch immediately!
Why is it that online business feel they have the right to try and force so much personal information out of us? Because they need to make money too! In a real store or business you are paying $$ for a service, so they dont ask as many questions. When you go to the NY Times website, you don't pay anything. But the website still has bills it must pay. This is how they are able to pay their bills, by collecting data and using that information for marketing purposes.
Agreed. These guys are not morons -- they know what they are doing. If this had been an unintentional security lapse, the problem would have disappeared very quickly, considering the article says that intelligence authorities were alerted a while back. It leads me to think that perhaps this is not such a big deal as it initially seems, and perhaps these images are purposely being put out there to throw someone off track.
The coolest part of the article was the link to the live webcam feed at the bottom! There is some pretty interesting stuff going on at that place! I don't know if anyone caught this, but I'd swear one of the techs was drinking beer from a longneck bottle! Another time there was a a guy making faces into the camera. These guys are way cooler than my coworkers!
I've got a few computers behind an linksys router that I use to share my cable modem internet connection. Does anyone know if the broadband adapters for these console systems will work behind a router?
I'll be using Crossover to get my work done. You have a great point on an ideological basis, but get real, you aren't going to change a damned thing by not going to a website that uses a microsoft or quicktime stream. As mentioned in earlier posts, some of us actually use these tools for things other than fooling around and need them for work. Crossover does what I need and I get to use a free (as in beer) OS.
You grew meningitis??
Meningitis is a medical condition characterized by inflammation of the meninges of the brain.
You can't grow meningitis on a petri dish just like you can't grow heart failure in a petri dish.
I'm guessing you grew a gram-negative bacteria like Hemophilus influenzae or Neisseria meningitidis.

Wait a minute...
But won't increasing prices by like 100% or so kinda drive demand down even further? That might not be the best way to improve your business.

The $3500 daewoo was not a projection TV. It was a plasma!
Whats the big deal? They sell bigger ones than this! Theres a daewoo 42" at my local best buy for $3500. Almost got it for x-mas.

Correction:
You do not work at Walmart nor do you own Walmart stock.
Otherwise you don't work at Walmart stock, which doesn't make any logical sense from my perspective.
The cookbook opens fine in GSView in Windows.
