    "Let's think about it this way. Let's just say for example if "Australia" comes out tomorrow and announce that the US is a great terrorist nation and a part of the "Axis of Badpeople" and that at some point later on, the US has to be dealt accordingly. Do you think the US is going to sit back and wait until "Australia" attacks? No, the US will attack "Australia" preemptively because you pretty much know a battle is coming, why wait for the enemy to attack you.

    Actually, yes we would wait for them to attack. That's what the US always does. Australia could scream and shout and pass pamphlets on the "Evils of the US" to their hearts content. But as soon as they start killing our people and blowing up our stuff, they get taken down.

    We wouldn't be dumb about it; we'd be watching them for any sign of hostility. But to think we'd nuke a country, or even kill many of their people (military or civilian) by their mere posturing is lunacy.

    You should read up on China's Internet restrictions.

    All web based email is banned. You just can't go to the sites. Many political sites are banned. Many TOPICS are banned. They're on the cutting edge of scanning email for inappropriate words. Which is amazing considering email/internet is packet based.

    Why do you think there was the big crack down on cyber-cafes? Did they ever let them open up again?

    Yep! I worked my way though college as an AS/400 operator! You know what that gets me? ZILCH!

    Oh wait, there is a job in the area looking for AS/400 operators...who speak French or Spanish fluently.

    Oh, and I got the internship. Paying internship. I was the only programmer there and did a lot of work. Results? NOTHING!

    People who are hiring don't care if you've done an internship; they don't care if you worked your way though college, they don't care if God himself sent you down to apply for that job.

    If you don't have X years experience doing Y, your resume goes into the cirular file.

    Why would we have to wait? Couldn't we use those new ion engines to send a probe there?

    I thought the only reason to send a probe to Pluto now is because it's more efficent to do so, but if the probe is powered all the way there, then who cares?

    That's because people like you are exactly what's wanted in IT now.

    In my area there are no beginning jobs in IT. They all require 3 years of experience in at least 4 different disciplines.

    Some of them seem to read, "We fired our IT department, and we need a guy who can do it all."

    One self declared "Entry Level" job wanted 4 years of experience!

    The reason I can't find an IT job is that I don't have years of experience. I graduated last year and have been scrounging up temp jobs to get by.

    The market is getting better, but I don't know when/if the entry-level jobs are coming back.

    After all, the software doesn't care how many machines it's installed on. And you bought it to be installed on your machines.

    Precious metal and stones are valuable cause they're hard to get. Take a basic economics course. Actually, this is too basic for Economics 101. Head back to grade school.

    Porn represents sex. You can add some other stuff in there, but someone looking at two sweaty naked people going at it and say "Obviously the extension of a male dominated society blah blah blah" is looking for things that just aren't there.
