    I read that Mongols used silk as lightweight armor. It worked by not breaking when an arrow stuck it. The arrow would still pierce your flesh, but you would be able to remove it by pulling on the silk.

    I'm amazed how you can discount the entire business model of TV Guide. Yes, if you want to know what time and what channel a show comes on, you need TV listings.

    Unless you're advocating people sit in front of their TVs mindlessly clicking around looking for something to watch.

    Unlike when I was growing up, there's actually a lot of high quality passive entertainment these days. You might want to check it out.

    Either she doesn't like it, has issues, or just doesn't have a sex drive. After 7 months you should look at your relationship and go "This is normal. Do I want to keep doing this?"

    Give me a break. You were given free training in a high demand field during the boom years.

    You remind me of the guy who thought anyone who couldn't get a job in the IT industry was incompetent. He got this option because he bumped into someone during the dot-com years and they gave him the training and a high paying job.

    Tell me this then. What do you do with someone who's previous employee gives him a horrible feedback? Do you just assume he's telling the truth? Or that you may have a highly skilled person sitting in front of you that didn't get along with the previous boss?

    And everyone is not created equal. They're seen as equal under the law. That's it.

    The people who create taxes are the leaders of their countries. It gives them money and power.

    Now here's an example where a country became prosperous from low taxes. Do you expect the leaders of other countries to follow the example and give up money and power to help their country?

    Although giving people what they want is King, why doesn't my provider have a limited rate package? Even if it's not that popular, it doesn't cost them any more to have it available.

    Or does it?

    By charging more for an "Unlimited" account, and then treating them like it's a limited account, they would get the best of both worlds.

    I don't know how much bandwidth I consume. But if they sent me an email with the statistics, and offered me a limited rate package, I'd jump on it. (Unless I was always over the limit)

    They've had decades to dominate the market and learn how to extract as much money as possible from the process.

    There's no way they'll be able to make the same kind of money as they're used to. It's a new market and a new process.
