Lets not forget the "Anti-competitive" nature of the modern labor union. My grandmother worked in a textile factory. Some of the workers got the bright idea that a union would be nice, they had a vote among the workers to determine if a union is what they wanted. The pro-union faction lost, by a large margin, but then, the trucks stopped coming to deliver raw materials or take the finished product away, thanks to your friendly neighborhood teamsters. The workers were not free to decide whether they wanted the union, but a union boss made that decision for them. Long story short, the plant had to close, removing all the jobs based on an outsiders greed.
And the Lord sayeth onto Moses, 'Thou shalt not SMP with Intel Desktop processors.' You must buy their Xeon's to get supported MP. I'm pretty sure no one has released a desktop SMP P4 board, but I wouldn't put it past SiS, who is finaally starting to make decent parts, after years of being the OEM boardmaker everyone hates.
Okay, I'll bite, but how do you end up with "dripping" panes in very old windows. IE 1880's or older homesteads that are still standing have panes of glass that are thinned at the top and thicker at the bottom. That would suggest liquid to me.
How about closing all foreign trade to countries that do not clamp down on pirating centers, communist China would be first on my list. Why we let them in the WTO is beyond me, their government is the United States enemy at its core.
That's what I like about Chami's HTML-Kit Our marketing people dummy up the site in word/powerpoint/publisher, I run it through the auto-indent, "strip Word 2000 tags", and "convert to XHTML" filters, and boom, I have 90% of a page redesign done, its a matter of getting positioning and colors right after that.
jump into the world of 64-bit computing, preferably with an Ebay scavenged alpha or a x86-64 machine, which should be out then (Opteron just hasn't had time to grow on me)
Don't forget, you have to be in the oldest 90% of accounts to metamod, currently that means an account created today would have to wait for acct ~625,000 to be created. Now to make this fair, it should be the oldest 90% of accounts that have logged in in the last month, but who said/. was fair.
Nimda and Red were directory traversals, basically an overflow triggered by the string of N's or X's on the default.ida processor led to the bad code at the end being able to jump out of the document root, edit registry, and install the almighty root.exe, or at least look for it.
Oh I beg to differ, they are morons, by and large, we have some customers at our ISP (AOL doesn't have a pop here...yet) who insist on paying the full $20+/month for AOL instead of droping AOL together or switching to the bring your own. I'm just waiting for our DSL customers to start doing this.
Bandwidth my boy bandwidth, lets say that your average 30 second local ad for "Bob's Auto Sales" is 1MB by however many local TV markets, lets take the top 100 which have Fox, NBC, ABC, CBS, UPN, and WB, so that is 600MB worth of bandwidth you don't really have, nor is it easy to get in place in a hurry
Not really this "Really Cool Channel" still has to license those movies from...AOL/TimeWarner, Vivendi(or whatever owns paramount now), or some other media giant that has a big investment in cable providers, cable channels, or both.
I understand your point about avoiding monopolies but under Adam Smith's model for capitalism if you have multiple companies competing for the same business each will try to offer a better product than its competitors.
Explain the boy bands then?
What happened to Global Distributed Microsoft Filestore we are all supposed to migrate to in the future? We won't need local disks just a $99 license for a bios flash every 6 months
I hadn't thought about that but they do look like erasers don't they. We always called them mouse dicks or mouse wangs depending on who was in the office.
We aren't hard sells, you just have to offer something we can find useful, like beer, pizza, Jolt, Mountain Dew (The alcohol or that bottled caffine pepsi sells us), T-Shirts with slogans and images that confuse the rest of the world, and/or leatherman tools. We get our software for free/low cost through piracy and the nature of the free software movement and hardware can be scrounged from just about anywhere, so we just need the creature comforts.

Makes sense, I still say I could get at least 1 million dollars out of congress to find out though.
medicine is biology, biology is chemistry, chemistry is physics, physics is math, math is logic, logic is....

I have no need of seeing Tom Green in full digital brilliance.
Ha! You can use Tom Green and Brilliance in the same sentence, I'll be damned.

We have a system based on percentages of nrcpts from an IP in a day, but we bounce with a contact us message too.
Your comment would be the only time in the history of /. that a link to goatse.cx would be warranted, bravo to you for taking the high road.
