Why must it always be about making money? How about musicians and scientists do it because they love the work. A whole hell of a lot of people don't agree with the theory that you must always get cold hard cash in return for your time.
How about the fact that it doesn't cost an arm and a leg? Who cares about innovation as long as it works and works well and is affordable and can be suited to a person/companies needs.
Just out of curiosity why is there only 2 SATA controllers on all these new motherboards? No room? Too expensive? No need?
Whats the point in having SATA RAID with only 2 devices?
I'm looking at building a new UBER-Fileserver for my home and want to use SATA but I want at least 4 maybe 8 HD's in the thing.
I have a p200 with a whopping 128MB ram and 180GB of storage in the closet, running linux. It cost me $29 canadian for the machine and ram and $440 canadian for the HD's and network stuff. The machine is also very quiet, i tried running it without a cpu fan and just a big heatsink but it would choke up after several hours.
Samba ownz, i use the machine for all my media storage.
We really need a slashdot cache sometimes. You can easily tell this page was hosted on the guys personal webserver on a home DSL connection and it was directly linked to.... BOOM!
Email the website owners and create a mirror on slashdot and keep it up for an hour or so. What good does it do to link to a story or cool geeky thing and then not be able to see the damn thing?
I wonder what the reason behind it is? With only two main PPC mobo makers surely there would be a market. Does anyone have any more info besides a very vague press release?
Step1: download the linux iso's and don't pay for support
step2: whine and complain when theres no support to help you
Step3: get your half assed biased article posted on OS NEws
step4: Profit!!
If she seriously put an effort into trying like she claims, she should have PURCHASED support, all of those problems were easily solved with just a phone call.
Maybe you need to re-read his post a few more times. He doesn't say it's ok at all but it's not worth making laws over, turn your head away or kick the guys ass.
I wouldn't like your example but yes it's entirely possible and it's up to you or the other parents to show the placard bastard thats not OK to do (preferrably by kicking his ass)

so hacking is equivalent to child abuse and murder eh? Those people should even get out of jail.
there should be a UN resolution against spammers. How about resolution 1337?
What would they do? Vote someone out of the airlock?
Is there a limit as to how many controllers can be on board? Could someone for example put 12 controllers on one board with not much trouble?
