My dentist has a video headset that you wear while he is working in your mouth (it only covers your eyes and ears). Mostly all he has are kids videos, but luckily he has a few copies of the simpsons for me to watch! It's quite interesting, laughing one moment, grimacing the next:)

Australia's lowest denomination has been the 5c coin since 1988. Prices don't fall, the shelf prices are still usually $n.99. When you pay the cashier with cash your total gets rounded to the nearest 5c, it doesn't get rounded if you pay by electronic means. This is similar to a proposal in the US.
Also when the 1c & 2c coins were phased out, the $1 and $2 notes were replaced with coins.
Personally, I don't care if the quality of my printouts is less than perfect. If it looks like shit, and I need a better quality printout for some reason, I'll buy a new cartridge. I shouldn't be *forced* to buy a new cartridge just because my printout *may* not have perfect contrast or quality because it's too old. Why shouldn't I be able to print using a refilled or old cartridge if I want to, even if the quality is a bit poor?
As it is meant to be intuitive to use, the multi-hour training probably consists of being trained in how excellent the scooter is. "multi-hour" because different people will take different amounts of time to learn this.
It probably involves listening to music with the lyrics "doog si yawges".

Just because a site has high-res images doesn't mean that it has high bandwidth. You think it would take quite a few people to slashdot? How many is a few? The site is slashdotted already.

Also look at the WIPO essays. The English one doesn't appear to argue directly for or against IP laws. He mentions the disadvantages that IP laws have in terms of education and entertainment, often being worse for both the user and the creator, while being glad of the protection he'll get for his own ideas.
Personally I think what's needed is a non-patent-office, where people can register their ideas and allow them to be used freely, preventing real patents from being made on similar ideas. It would act as an archive of evidence demonstrating that many patents that are applied for are not original. This would prevent stupid patents that are based on common sense and that could easily be thought up by someone else without being aware that someone has come up with a similar idea.
What people seem to be missing is the fact that someone running a mail server for spam can claim to have fixed their configuration, get it automatically tested, and get off the blacklist. They can then change their configuration back again, and continue spamming. Any automatic testing service should keep a record of the number of times that the mail server has failed the test.

Also think about the effect of disposable DVDs on the environment... There's no way I would have enough coffee mugs to turn them all into coasters!

Steal this little baby, and it's like stealing a credit card... only there's no pin number or signature to worry about
