But in reality it's simply that for every finite number there is a conventional, finite proof.
Let's say I want to prove it for f(325266235235352):
f(1) is true.
Since f(1) is true, f(2) must be true.
Since f(2) is true, f(3) must be true.....
Since f(325266235235352 - 1) is true, f(325266235235352) is true.
Thats not really explaining how it works. Its not inifinty magic yes, but demonstrating it with an arbitrary large number doesn't explain it anymore then saying it is infinity magic. Which makes me wonder if you understand it as much as you think you do (on the other hand, the shit about phasors was pretty impressive). The reason it works is because (to paraphrase) you can always tell whether 2 is bigger than 1. (or that if I have 2 of something and you have 1 of something I have more then you). Which almost brings us back to the "apples" math. But what do I know.
Wait, XP for having a subscription, that almost sounds appealing. Sure it shafts the hardcore gamer, but for the casual player its a godsend. Suddenly they can compete with everyone else. Hmm, almost makes me want to check it out.
One such example might be "open a window with a list of files I can open using QuickTime player which contain video and are greater than 10 megs in size". So copland was BeOS?
I don't get it, am I extradinarily lucky or something? Everytime I've installed mplayer its all always been the traditional./configure (although I usually throw in some funky options like aalib support); make; make install.
Short of ocasionally copying windows codecs to/usr/lib/win32, thats all I've ever had to do. I don't see how this is any worse then any other project distrubuted as source.
I would agree. (with as bad or worse german then you of course).

I dunno Hyperthreading seems pretty buzzy to me.

Doesn't the spellchecking part kind of kick him out of slashdot?

So you want to buy a cartoon desk on ebay? Oh wait, maybe you knew that and were joking. Sorry.

hes asking about hardware I believe
You mean the intersection of the sets "/.ers" and "have kids" right? I'd imagine the union to be pretty big.
Um he wasn't being sarcastic. That was the point.
Forget getting caught, you too can throw away your education by not actually knowing the stuff you are supposed to.
AOL does support broadband
Valid points. Thanks.
Yes
I don't get it, as far as I can tell a Zodiac will be $300 while a FLU GP32 is like $210 from Lik-Sang (this is before shipping).
Ah yes, telling him the keyboard shortcut really fixes the problem of having broken menus.
3 ellipses would be .........
My friend wrote some Java that interfaced with QuickTime's API that takes the m4p files and spits out mp3s.
aha. You were so close, but then you went and confused a protocol (IRC) with a windows client for that protocol (mIRC). So close, and yet so far.
