    It's called Linus Torvalds. He will standardize as much as he can, and the rest of us will group behind the best distro of his stuff. Anything else would be closing the free developement model. UnitedLinux is trying to corner the market on useable linux.

    It's not a worst case scenario. It's an average case scenario. The 70 year old athlete isthe exception, not the rule.

    They're using good business sense to designed products to a larger customer base. Even Sean Connery, liver spots and all, would appreciate better designed ergonomics.

Not everyone owns their own home, or is brave enough to 'mod' the one they have. Also, which do you think will sell better? Devices that network by requiring extensive attic crawling, or ones that just work by placing them within a few hundred feet of the next one? Good point on the security, though.

    2) 90% of wireless adoption is due to laziness--people just don't want to run a wire from their TV to the speakers or from the computer to the toaster, or whatever. What about another building code change to run fiber throughout the house with a lot of available plugs? That way the problems that wireless (claims to) address can be met in other ways.     Why limit ourselves to 640x480? Already, higher resolution video feed is available for capture, such as digital cable. Mind you I haven't tried to capture this, but I'm sure _someone_ would eventually want to.

    I have an electric TC3, which is the same size, but runs on 6 1.2 volt NiCad or NiMH batteries. It's a pretty cool sport.
