Bastard was 6 eps condensed from >20 volumes of manga, while Berserk was 25 containing the first plot arc, or 8 or so volumes, of a still-running manga that's up in the 20s by now. That noted, they're both -severely- incompletely ended, although a second season of Berserk may eventually be produced due to the high sales of the DVD release here. (And hopefully it'll come out a lot more accurate to the manga than the new Kenshin OAVs due out here in a few months... dammit, I want Jinchuu! >_)
... Except, of course, that the number of anime releases by a major studio can likely be counted on one hand. (I'm thinking Akira and the the upcoming commercial release of the Cowboy Bebop movie, as well as the various implementations of Fuzzy Seizure Rodents.) In fact, with the exception of Manga (a relatively small company with few, although some major, licenced titles) and Pioneer (who tend to be overpriced to begin with, IMHO), the domestic anime companies tend to avoid using Macrovision or regioning at all unless it's stipulated in the license - in fact, this is the official policy of ADV, the largest US anime translator/distributor.
So... well the/. stance on the MPAA may well be hypocritical... enthusiasm for anime releases is rarely an example of such. ^^

Nadesico and LH are licenced over here, BTW, as are ROD and some, but not all, of the Lupin movies, although Lupin TV's still unlicenced. And Noir... well... ADV has Noir, but they're still not admitting it, so... well... =P
... Yep, this was the same controller, on an 8K7A+., Unfortunately, the util didn't work, but it did get it to the point where it was recignized as stiping properly... Ah well, thanks anyway. If something else major wasn't borked, that would have fixed it...
Ever look at a PS game case, and see the under the Playstation logo two boxes that say "NTSC" and "U/C"? As far as Sony's concerned, Canada is in the same software/hardware region as the US. Admittedly, you probably wouldn't see it on store shelves there, but seeing as it's direct-order anyway... =P
Guess I'm imagining that old Versyss server taking up room downstairs... And I think its PS even has standard 4-pin molex connectors (although it still wouldn't work very well as the only supply in a new system, as it lacks either AT or ATX mobo power connectors.)
(seriously, I can't tell from either the picture or the text... on the one han, it appears to have a gas-burning motor attached which would be a bit overkill for the first application, but on the other, the page warns that the packaging may reveal the contents and they can't guarantee it remaining unknown...)
Any word on the US release date for Matsushita/Panasonic's GameCube unit, or whether software will be able to use the extended area for FMV or possibly game data as well? One would imagine that if the extra data capacity (data capacity of the 8cm disc being used in the GC is ~1.5gb, whereas a single-layered 12cm DVD is ~4.5, double-layered ~8, and if one extrapolates density from 8cm and 12cm CD sizes, a 12cm GC data disc should be approximately 6gb...) was usable for software, this would make that version much the preferable system, even at a higher price... especially given that the sizes of some of the newer PSX RPGs are approaching 1.5gb.
FF7 was September 9th, and FF8 was the 10th... I think 9 was too, but I'm not sure. Important titles for Sony systems, and, in fact, the PSX itself, were released the second week of September for quite a while... in fact, FF6 was a mid-november release. And, if I recall correctly, both FF4 and FF1's American releases were early summer... At least that's when Nintendo Pravda hyped them. ^^;;;
Or you could just buy all the ramen-producing factories and attempt to control the world by inserting mind-control chemicals into the seasoning packets...
You can have American-made Japanese-style RPGs, and Japanese-made American-style RPGs. It basically comes down to whether the developer values their d20 or their anime cels more. ^_~

Excel Saga. Many of the characters appeared in Rikudo Koshi's earlier h-doujin Daitenjin.

Think Final Fantasy or Dragon Quest.
As opposed to Bard's Tale or Wizardry or something
It's hard to describe, but there's 'feel' differences. ^_^
