whether it can used or misused? People are just referring to the fact that they hate the cell phone, contact me when I'm anywhere, world, but they understand that they need to have one because all of their friends do, and can setup last minute things involving 10 different people at once. Normally, half of the people could be away and eating dinner, but you can bang contact them on the cell phone and get a YES/No to some event going on two hours later. People hate it and love it. What is hard to understand?
Thin doesn't imply healthy. When we discuss people with no muscles who weigh 300 pounds, we are talking about fat and that is unhealthy. On the same hand, a thin person with no muscle and a poor diet, but little fat, is still unhealthy. Fat people don't understand that their problem isn't that they're fat, it's that they're eating unhealthy foods and making themselves unhealthy. The solution isn't to "become thin", it's to become healthy, which for some body types might mean having a bit of love handles and stuff like that, but still regular work outs and avoiding sugar and carb fluffs (which are also the SOLE REASON for tooth decay and cavities, and the reason why they don't satisfy the body.)
Basically, you'll have to end up not listening to a bird on TV telling you to eat a colorful cereal just because they fortified vitamins into the nothingness that it is. Marketing and Business is the study of lying to trick people into using stuff they don't need. Here are the only things your body needs, for those who are brainwashed and completely forgot:
1) Water. Water water water. NOT LIQUIDS. NOT FLUIDS. I'm talking about water!
2) Food. Not sugar, not carbs. Do you guys even know that sugar and carbs are just cheap placebos that don't do anything positive for the body, just triggering an insulin spike to eat more of them? Except they're worse than placebos because they actually hurt you. Sugar is the reason we have cavities, we did not have cavities until coca cola and other sugary foods entered mainstream. Why did they enter the mainstream? TO MAKE THOSE PEOPLE MONEY. And the companies still lie and market that shit as healthy when none of it is. Eat manly stuff like red meat, all sorts of meat, half of your diet meat! That will fill you up. The carbs should be stuff like vegetables and fruits (and their sugars are good because they fibers of the fruits wipe the sugar off the teeth!), etc. Basically, you do need to eat carbs, but THE MAIN THING THAT SHOULD BE THE DIET IS MEAT. Unlike this crap that the FDA says, that it should be 11 servings of bread. LOL. The diet should be meat and fruits and some milk. Eat cereal once in a while (Cheerios, Special K, Korn Flakes) of course. The whole point is to switch from eating cheap dime a dozen carbs to meat. WHY DO YOU THINK SUBWAY HAS SO MUCH BREAD AND SO LITTLE MEAT? Do you think it is because they want to follow the FDA guidelines? It's because THE LITTLE MEAT YOU GET IS is expensive compared to the TONS of bread that's worthless. That just makes you feel like not hungry for 10 seconds. You do need carbs with meat, but not as much as we are used to seeing. They should give half the bread and 3 times as much meat. Except this would cost like 3 times more!!! Why? BECAUSE MEAT IS WORTH MORE AND BREAD IS WORTHLESS! It spikes your insulin and makes you want to eat more stupid shit like that which just stores as fat.
The funny thing is, I visually compared sample pictures taken with Kodak digital cameras against those of other cameras at many camera review sites. HP and Kodak had terrible pictures, not just the worst, but terrible, compared to photos from Olympus, Sony, and Cannon cameras. Thus, Kodak's deal to stop selling film cameras is misleading. I think it is a publicity stunt, to get people to look at their digital cameras. (And to make people think if Kodak is dropping film cameras, then digital must be the way! And whos cameras will they think of first? Of course, Kodak's crappy cameras.) This will help Kodak boost sales in those two ways. If it's not a PR stunt, then whos ever even heard of Kodak film non-disposable cameras? Exactly. They are basically shutting down production of the 2 cameras they sold for free 'exposure' to THEIR digital cameras.
1) WhenU does not install because a user asked it to. It is spyware.
2) slightly off topic, but their popups and spyware sends are not blocked by the google toolbar. I saw a computer that had google toolbar, with 8 popups blocked (yuppie!) but outside popups were not. The owner had like software popups outside of IE popping up every 10 seconds so much he installed googles toolbar just because of that. Imagine how much business google gets because of the spyware business, as googletoolbar is the most well known popup blocker (even if it doesn't remove those popups the user came to get removed) ?
Here is the problem; I realized it in a fit of genius. The problem is that Americans are taught the science and theoretical crap. Indians and Russians are taught useful skills that will actually SERVE THEM IN LIFE. Skills like ENGLISH and MAKING ACTUALLY USEFUL PROGRAMS.
Computer Science made sense 10 years ago as a field solely for mathematical types who wanted to design weather satellites, sort of like an engineer would do. Now, what we need is a code monkey major! The solution: We can't all remain Computer Scientists, too concerned with theory than actually solving-the-usually-very-simple-f-ing-problems-pos ed-by-customers.
Now, when we realize that Indians are taught English and can speak it well, we realize that EVERYTHING THEY LEARN isn't for feeling special, but because IT SERVES A CONCRETE, NON-THEORETICAL PURPOSE. From this, we can deduce that other subjects fit this idea of functional unison with the western world, such as that their 'computer scientists' aren't computer scientists at all, but taught application design principles so they can actually GET SHIT DONE INSTEAD OF LEARNING ABOUT THEORETICAL CRAP.
Most Indians and Russians would not spend money on music or art lessons, and what their schools will spend money on are USEFUL stuff like English and FINISHING COMPUTER APPLICATIONS. We can easily deduce this, I mean the country is poor.
Instead of a Computer Scientists sending the theoretical specs to Indian code monkeys to follow, we need a BS DEGREE in Code Monkey. A code monkey would learn how to take a spec, and work together with other coders in a way that a CS major would never learn, as they are a single creationist point of their theoretical views. Code monkeys would learn to work together to put a single CS major's views into light.. ANY F-ING WAY POSSIBLE BECAUSE THE CODE MONKEYS WILL KNOW THE POINT IS TO SOLVE THE DAMN PROBLEM, NOT NECESSARILLY FOLLOW THE (and now I'm bored of typing this;). SUBMIT!

Thanks for telling us the patent number. With the electronic genetic blueprint, this is very important to our society, as now we will know how to create and spread the common cold in digital form without leaving the house.
We could even export this kind of cold to India, all without leaving the house.
Only a Linux zealot would make the claim that they genetically engineered something... when it's a replication of an already known common virus. And, just like the common cold, this common virus (at 97%) is just as likely to have infected your electronic hard drives, too.
Only a Microsoft Flu lab could make the claim that they genetically engineered a common cold virus, and all in the same sentence. It must be really hard to genetically engineer out of nothing, something... very... common.. Hmm.
he didn't wake up one day and find himself inside an nfl uniform. He had to push himself all his life with no guarantee he would make the nfl. It worked out for a guy that his body turned out to be good enough for the NFL and good enough to support his hard training. However, only %.004 of people will as hard at putting effort towards their unknown fate of starting a business or other risks as that guy did to get where he got. Nobody knows what their genetics let them do until they GET TO THE POINT WHERE GENETICS WILL MATTER. Only a few people will ever reach a point where their genetics starts to matter in whatever they do (weights, smarts, drawing), so they won't even know whether they got the genes for it or not without investing about ten years of 5 hours a day training in whichever craft a person wants to try at. I'm sure most of slashdot has aptitude for either fast running, gaining muscle, jumping, art, but I would guess that none of the hundred of thousands or readers will ever come close to pushing himself close to his 'limit' of performance, especially since almost nobody will ever even put effort into those things to see how they do and go through life without even knowing they had superior genetics in one field or another. Most people are human wastes of stored energy.
So success works like this:
1) You see something you are better at than most people 2) No idea if you have some extra aptitude than most people or if you possess superior genetics that can allow you to be the top %.0001 of the population. 3) Train and practice every day for many many many years to see if you truly have a talent or just ability. 4) More and more training to come closer to your self-imposed limit in your head. 5) After all these years of testing your body, you will still not be limited by your genetics. 6) After being able to excel and keep improving in your field, you know you have good genetics. But by the time you get to this point where your genetics will separate you from non-geneticly gifted people for your talent, YOU HAVE REACHED THE SAME PINNACLE POINT from all the training--being in the top.00002% of the population. So a guy's genetics might help him out from this step on where you are screwed because only 1/10 of the.00002% of people who got this far can do a quadruple lutz or a 3 minute mile, etc., and you are not one of them... while the other person will be able to, you would have still achieved something worthwhile with yourself.
Except that you didn't because you didn't even put an initial step, never mind testing how far you can go. Just bitch bitch bitch, no risk taking at whatever skill you are good at with your genetics to see if you can push it to the max where genes, and not training time or lazyness or anything else is the only thing affecting your progress.
that you've ever tried to write a game. Believe me that when the frame rate is only 30, that's not going to be the only thing slowed down. Games are written for probably around 60 fps with possible settings that would allow 30 to be playable. However, the networking code and everything else is designed to work while the the computer can support processing 60 fps to draw. At 30, the computer is functioning below the intended optimum and performance does start lagging.
In theory, maybe a person won't notice the difference between 90 and 30 fps redrawing the same thing on a monitor that flawlessly displays refreshes at a billion hertz WHERE ONLY SIMPLE CALCULATIONS ARE DONE, like a circle moving around really fast, and the only difference is the cap at 30. That's what you're suggesting... OF COURSE a person might not be able to tell!
What I am saying is that a low fps in almost every major game that I can think of will occur on an under performing computer which has some bottleneck that prevents it from going to 90 fps, and whether or not it is the graphics card or a slow cpu or slow memory or cached memory or not, PERFORMANCE IS WORSE. Every single person will find 90 fps more enjoyable. 30 fps isn't a setting as you suggest, it's a SYMPTOM of a bottleneck.
Do you really mean to tell me that you think I'm talking about a game that is capped at 30 fps? You are digging for straws. 30 fps, especially in my example and real life, is not a cap in fps games. I am talking about real life performance, you are talking about a computer capable of rendering at 200 fps that displays two screens, one capped at 30 and one capped at 90. What kind of a student unrealistic argument is that? Of course in both cases everything is updated at the same speed and the only factor is the 2/3s less frames on one monitor. But in real life, 30 fps happens for a reason, beacuse of a real bottleneck. 90 fps without a bottleneck would be preferred to any system at 30 fps because of a bottleneck (not a cap, obviously.)
Phosphors need to be refreshed before they expire. If they start dimming before they are refreshed, then you will notice slight blinking compared to looking at a piece of paper. Your monitor tries to do this at as fast hertz as possible. If 85 hz means that for your monitor, pixels are refreshed before they even start dimming, then you won't ever be sick from it.
However, when frames are refreshed (in a game), they do not "dim". What I mean is, old frames don't expire. If you are staring at the same thing that doesn't change, it won't matter if it updates 200 frames a second or 1 frame a second--YOU WON'T KNOW. In a game, people will know the difference between 90 fps (fluidity) and 30 fps (not fluid around fast jerking around of mouse.) The person will FEEL the difference in speed. There will be a laggier feel as opposed to the 90 fps. 30 fps doesn't just mean less fps, it also means there's more time needed for the computer to draw that frame before showing it. People will see much faster updates at 90 fps, regardless of hz your mointor supports. 2/3rds of the frames the gamer gets are older than the ones the 90 fps guy gets, only 1/3 (every third) frames might match up with the new 90 fps the faster comp guy gets. You are missing the point about fps. It's not for eye candy. Higher fps makes you a better player, gives faster response time, and allows less bottlenecking. Lower fps shows a deficiency on the computer to run the game properly, and in a low fps case, you know that if it's that low, then networking and other systems might be affected. While at 90 fps, you know that everything is going smoothly for you to get that high.
whether it can used or misused? 31% of America being eliterit seems kind of high, I'd say maybe 20 per cent.

ANother HL mod, SvenOps 3.0, was released today. It is a multiplayer teamplay mod.
Finally, Natural Selection HL mod 3.0 is also due today or this week.
That's three HL mods for the holidays!
Added DEC 25th, 2003 at 3:00 PM.

But Natural Selection HL mod is supposed to go to version 3.0 sometime today!
That means the christmas feature is that alien and marine individuals can now duke it out in deathmatch instead of on teams!
Or do you we (to be legal) have to subscribe to see it because of copyright issues?

1) Hundai is the largest manufacturer of commercial boats that deliver our Yahama speakers from China.
2) Hundai makes crap cars (by definition of 'cheap', I don't really know how they really are.)
Enjoy the joke,

An uninformed reader will think it's weird that a computer peripheral (speaker) company also makes vehicles.
More-informed slashdot readers will know better--they are still trying to get over that Hundai is allowed to make cars.
If you read the article, apple makes 0 cents from this. Absolutely no money. They only make money on the hardware (ipods)
