    College is good and if you really want to speed up your career it's mandatory.
    CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate) is VERY helpful for system administrator. While preparing to it you'll learn a lot of really useful things that help you stand your decision against upper management voluntary provisions.

    But for JVM you have NONE! Except for Java, of course (cheesy smile).
    It produce program managers that allow only Java
    in their installations, regardless of the task.
    A task can be as small as 10 words in Prolog... but... "We are working JAVA"...

    DO NOT USE JAVA!
    It's ugly and slow.
    Even C# with .net is better - it allow people to use whatever language they want on the same CLI...

    Is it water-proof? How much is the coldest operating temperature?
    There is some need for handhelds that can work under -30 Celsius
    (normal temperature in some parts in Russia in winter) and be waterproof.
    What can you suggest?

    They offer a lot of useful services.
    I do not hesitate to get some ads from them, either.
    Spam from yahoo is not as bad as anonymous stupid spam.
    Moreover, I just can go settings and tune it.
    So I found nothing really wrong with yahoo - especially not to that degree of boycotting it...

    Unfortunately, Basic (even Visual), is the only best known fortran-like easy language, that allow you quickly create formula-like stuff.
    A good idea to promote PHP in schools for that purpose. It uses mostly fortran-like syntax.
    BTW, there exists free implementation of substitute for visual basic for linux
