Windows is for games and Microsoft Office. but if you are scared of a commandline then you have no business touching a server. That's why we have these problems. Not because one OS is more advanced than the other but for the simple reason that Windows makes it easier for idiots to screw up the net for the rest of us
AMD also voted for this too so we'll expect support for future Athlons (or more likely the Hammer). In the meantime Hypertransport is here for us to enjoy
know why? This is why

Everyone is talking about how good KDE is. Maybe I'll try it. I want to list a few of the biggest hangups I have with UI's that I hope KDE or someone else would address
1) bottom line everything should be fast and responsive. Wanna switch between many apps? Should be no problem. Apps should launch instantly
2) a directory system that makes sense. Everything should make should be in its place: apps shouldn't touch a "Windows" folder. A "bin" is where you put garbage-not files. Come on guys
3) I understand the idea of a commandline but what we have now is either inadequate (DOS) or completely unintuitive (bash). Come on like I'm supposed to figure out that 'ls' lists the directory? What the heck is 'grep' supposed to be? Please use or refer to real English words or even better-make it localizable so the rest of the world can be more productive.
4) I would like to be able to say "I want mozilla to open all my html files except pistachio.html and everything in the webwork folder. I want Go Live Pro to open those"
5) kill the refresh button/menu option. If something is updated I want to see it immediately
what did she think it was? Iced coffee? Of course you'll burn yourself if you spill coffee on your lap. That's why you should be careful! WHat's next? Suing tea kettle companies if you are such a klutz that you spilled boiling water all over yourself?
Sony will probably buy Be. They need it for the evilla and imagine Playstation 2 or 3 with BeOS on it? yeah there's linux but it's not exactly easy to use. With BeOS they could make the PS2 into a friendly entertainment center. Sony sold millions of PS2's so it could be the internet appliance that makes it. ok what about Palm? Sony makes the clie and they could make a deal with Palm to incorporate Be technology into PalmOS. That would be similar to the deal Palm has with Nokia where they would use the epoc kernel running on ARM. Imagine Be technology, epoc kernel and Sony hardware in the pockets of millions
Why do you call it wireless linux when it's not linux! It's eCos. So misleading. So because it's open source does that mean it's related to linux? Why not call it wireless bsd or some other open source OS. Or why not just call it what it is. Anyway, symbian is the kernel for cellphones and I assume it will be part of PalmOS 5 because of the nokia deal. So that's going to be ubiquitous.
"You've got dead people!"
"You've got new age psycho-babble!"
it doesn't have a cache (something that I use almost all the time) and also happens to run on Windows.
"You've got SirCam!"
mmm like a killer puff pastry :)
Playstation 2 is doing very well and they support linux (at least in Japan). So if you love games and linux then you should consider a PS2
but virus is a latin word
and call me when you figure out how to disinfect all the latest Windows viruses

and what does Linux have to show for all of its greatness? Staroffice and Tuxracer?
ah but can you run Wordsmith on a linuxPaq? Is there anything decent for it?
