As someone else pointed out (gotta give credit where credit's due), Freeplay makes an AM/FM/SW1/SW2 (sorry, no NOAA) crank/solar radio. $100 bucks and one also gets donated to people in Africa.
The posting makes it sound like they have a specific app in mind. You email them indicating that you're interested and they email back a challenge registration form along with further instructions (I take this to be the "details" part).
Thanks for the link. I've been looking for something about the shells. However, something people should note: the picture in the IGN article is a mock-up made by IGN. It is in no way the real thing.
Likewise, Uncyclopedia can cover all the global information that Wikipedia cannot. So I think there is a place for the content of Uncyclopedia, or as they say Arr, Pirateopedia.
It sounds like you've never actually read anything at uncyclopedia (nor can you, for today at least). Go back there tomorrow and take a good look around. I'd suggest hitting the "random article" button a few times for starters.
Mod this tripe down! This has been covered several times throughout this discussion. The only thing this affects are a set of numbers which have absolutely nothing to do with the functionality of the protocol itself.
I don't think it would affect the actual operation of the torrents at all. If I understand this correctly, it would only screw with sites that keep track of ratios, and then it would only affect the reported upload/download info. This doesn't cause clients to try to get data/chunks from you that you don't have.
I would imagine that setting up a small script that bumps up your uploaded amount by a few hundred MB every now and then would be very hard to detect. Certainly more difficult than spotting someone who just uploaded 10GB out of nowhere (as in the example).
The portability is possible because the underlying technologies of Expression...
When they say "Expression" in the article, are they referring to the (formerly Creature House) program Expression? And if so, is this implying that the Avalon presentation layer is essentially a chunk of that code grafted onto Windows? I admit that I haven't read up much on Vista (or Avalon), but it seems that this is a very poor way of creating an advanced windowing system...
FYI - He dropped the P.
I tend to agree, and I've never even finished the game.
Dude, it takes like 7 hours to play through the whole thing...
Do you have any sort of link to a credible source to back up this claim?

I've found the car squealing sound to be more effective in meetings. Throw one of those in every few slides to keep people from dozing off.
Agreed. I get much better reception with my 2001 iBook's Airport card than I do from either a D-Link USB adapter or a Linksys PCI adapter.
Looks like somebody needs to take some reading comprehension classes...
Great idea! I think they should just lift the green and red thumbs up/down buttons from a TiVo remote and put them up there with the article icons.
Mmmm...AsbestosPad...
Hurricane Goatse
"I've never seen an eye that large before!"
It looks more and more like the riaa are becoming control freaks...
Becoming?
Maybe so, but I don't wanna hear about it when you start thinking the plump chick on stage is starting to look cute.
They seem to be more than $39...
Just wanted to make something clear here: opera and beer do not mix well together.

Good to see the fine folks at uncyclopedia are participating in Talk Like a Pirate Day.
He did, but their response was "De doo doo doo de da da da is all I want to say to you."

I just want to make sure the message gets out there.

Soon I'll be able to sell my vial of ice-9 for billions!
