As someone who played snare in drumline (and who's seen his fair share of DCI videos back in the day), I'd say this is a great use of the alternate angle feature.
(They complain because they have to do it in a browser instead of having it all come up through the Email client.)
Stick an extra copy of firefox on their machine, give it a nice calendary icon, set the homepage to the calendar page, disable all the menubars, change the executable name, change the titlebar with firesomething, and tell everyone it's their new calendaring app. Sure, it's still separate from their email client, but I bet most people wouldn't be able to tell that it's running in a browser...
Just a question regarding the multiple angles thing. Is this really going to get used? I mean, DVDs have had this feature since day one. I've only ever seen one disc that actually used the feature, and it was some pr0n movie. And I gotta tell you, watching people shuffle around the background during the filming of a pr0n shoot, though funny, doesn't make for a better viewing experience. Let's also not forget about the increased production costs to do this for more, umm, legitimate shows/movies. Sports are about the only thing this is good for, both from viewer and production points of view (har har).
Does anybody else out there find the state of space travel to be totally absurd? On the one hand, we're dealing with a task that is inherently very dangerous and complex. Going into space and back ain't exactly easy (it's rocket science, y'know). And then we're talking about sending guys to Mars in about 15 years - into environments that we barely understand. Yet, at the same time, we're grounding shuttles that only go up a few hundred miles until we can make them totally foolproof and 100% safe. Risk-taking is all part of the game. I agree that we should try to take as many precautions as possible. But doing so to the detriment of the goal is simply counterproductive. Until the bureaucrats that are running the show realize this, we're not going anywhere...
Hopefully most will realize this before they hit the road. That way they're prepared to actually sell stuff out there. I can't count how many times I've seen bands and wanted to buy a cd or shirt only to be told that they only brought one box with them on the tour and those sold out after 3 shows...
They played fine for me in Firefox. Flashblock didn't stop the videos from loading, so it's probably not pure flash. As for the concept, it'll be interesting to see where it goes. I noticed that the descriptive tags for a lot of the videos aren't too helpful (funny, silly, dumb, etc)...
The site is slashdotted, so I headed over to newegg to see what it looks like. Basically, they've taken a G5 and stretched the thing by about 50%. It now has the dimensions of a trolley. That's all that comes to mind when I look at the third newegg picture -- trolley...
Good news everybody! Apparently according to the new editorial standards set forth by CmdrTaco himself, every site that runs on slashcode can now be referred to as Slashdot! This should help line his pockets further so he'll be able to pay even less attention to his own site (as if that's possible)...
Now, unless you have some clever plan to locate all these 'lost treasures' PDQ, all you will find will be their bones...
It's pretty clear that you don't know what a bog person is. Bogs are typically highly acidic anoxic environments. This means that the bones will dissolve, while there is very little decomposition of the softer tissues. So basically, what you will end up with is everything but the bones. Of course, what's left will deteriorate very quickly once brought to the surface, so you got that part right...

I'm surprised nobody's stated the obvious yet:
Coders drink to Linux.
Funny? Where are the "insightful" mods?
Yes! Next question?
I would say that those 3D Doritos were pretty innovative. Not groundbreaking enough to displace the standard "flat" chip, though.
"But Mooooommmmmm...I don't want any hot coffee right now..."
I'm going to be rebellious and not listen to you!
Jasper: Moon Pie! What a time to be alive.
That's my state's citizens, neighbors, and friends at their best!
It's a commonwealth, you insensitive clod!

How do I set up my file handlers to deal with this sneakernet thing?
Actually, DVDs are generally cheaper than the UMD version.

Is that sorta like a BBC documentary?
2 player root access? How does that work? I guess it's like shell wars or something...

Imagine a beowulf cluster of those!
I want to upload my own reality show crap-o-rama! SHAZAM!
Holy shit! Doc Ruby is really a boy superhero!

Your homework had an EULA? *confused*
