if you want encryption, encrypt your email. Encrypting the connection between you and your smtp/pop server doesn't change the fact that the message is not encrypted when stored on the server or sent between hosts.

That said, I have been using gmail over https because I often check it using free wifi and damned if I know what kind of logging, packet inspection, or html modification might be going on.

Insider trading is illegal but it's not clearly defined. Mark Cuban recently won a case where he was accused of insider trading. Martha Stewart is an interesting example because she was prosecuted for obstruction of justice and lying to investigators, not for insider trading. The coverup is far worse than the crime, especially when there might not have even been a crime in the first place.

There are scripts to do schema conversion and stored procedures (functions) to emulate mysql functions but mysql has other non-standard functionality (like SELECTing columns which aren't GROUPed BY, DELETE ... LIMIT, INSERT ... ON DUPLICATE KEY UPDATE ..., silently truncating data, 2009-2-31, etc). Now, every sql db can be considered an extended superset of the SQL standard, but MySQL seems to be full of workarounds -- like a new column type for an updating timestamp vs using a trigger.
