If the institutional subscription is more expensive than what they're doing now, maybe they shouldn't use it. If it's less expensive, then what's the problem?
Sure! What better way to start a company than go bankrupt and shaft their suppliers, agree to a $2.7 million settlement, stop doing the one thing they were notable for, and rack up 6 figures in lawyer fees. All to enter a market with no barriers to entry and razor thin margins.
When I'm looking for a blowjob, I don't want to wait around for days. That's why I run perl and ruby on my python. What I want (a blowjob) when I want it (now).
There are hundreds (maybe thousands) of people who have contributed code to Linux. Each contributor retained the copyright to their code. Relicensing linux under another license would require the agreement of *every* contributor. When sourceforge went from GPL to closed source, they had to get a release from all contributors and strip out some code from people who told them to fuck off. Some projects (FSF, for example) require contributors to assign the copyright, so they can relicense however they want.
Nice try but a car is a physical object and you have the title to it. But if you buy a honda civic and replace all the parts with non-honda civic parts, it's no longer honda civic.
busybox is a single binary containing stripped down versions of a shell and common utilities (rm, ls, etc), which require less disk space and less memory. It's used in embedded devices, NAS boxes, TVs, etc.
look more closely. illegal wiretaps. A national policy with full support of the entire government structure vs something which is, well, illegal to begin with.
free access to decent food, housing, healthcare, and security
You're more than welcome to grow your own food, build your own shelter and live healthy. Or is it only "fair" if someone else is forced to provide those things for you?
. Microsoft can take the javascript engine, per process model, UI, etc. and keep the code closed.
That would be a good thing.
An S Corp gives you access to better deductions and better ways to keep your money.

if Lucas had the budget and technology to make the films he wanted, they probably would have been a lot worse.
Chrome is based on WebKit, which is LGPL and developed primarily by ... Apple. What exactly are they going to steal and not give back?
sure, just add --rewrite-to-target-a-completely-different-language-and-api to your CFLAGS.
Palm Pre apps are html + javascript but they generally make use of Palm's objects and classes which aren't available in a web browser.

The first gen (which was just a rebranded toshiba) was fairly ugly. And brown. Gen 2 was an improvement. Oh, and plays for sure.
Every car I've bought involved writing a personal check. (Used cars from dealers/garages, no loan bullshit, no 4 square nonsense).
AMD (or anyone else) can write their own compiler. Or contribute code to gcc or llvm.
What if microsoft added a clause that XBox OS could only be run on an XBox?

He's tainted by working with GPL code, so he can't relicense it as something else.
what the fuck are you smoking? If bruce's code is gone, then what does he have copyright on? The use of the GPL license?

They used GPL not because they like FREE software but because they could throw in some FUD to sell commercial licenses (with allegedly more features).
larry ellison may be an asshole, but at least he's not a mighty wide anus. Maybe monty should offer to buy back mysql if it's that important to him?
