Wouldn't that just iritate us if it just turned out to be graffiti? I keep wondering what might happen if someone 4000 years from now found a random sticky note from my desk.
Phrase - "Delete user user's access from domain."
Interperatation - "Some great and powerful leader is able to grant and revoke a drug addict's access to his land. And what is this sticky stuff on the back?"
Real answer - "This is a sticky note from an under paid sysadmin doing menial data entry work on an active directory project."
So if you have no stereoscopic vision then an OpenGL video game should look truly 3d to you right? I mean, how could you tell the difference between "real" and "fake" 3d if the only way the rest of us can tell is with the stereoscopic view?
Really. I'm just curious.
Unless of course you are using SiteServer, in which case you have to disable the 8.3 names to avoid unpredictable random blue screen events. Thanks Microsoft!
Not only that, but "the internet" is a monopoly. Where's the competition? Oh wait, we don't want competition, because it would be incompatible.
So uh, why don't we feel this way about certain software companies?
Does it seem odd to anyone that we're using (basically) the same shield technology that we did in 1983? Do you remember what kind of computers we had in 1983? Yikes...
You can buy one and not subscribe to any service - and just set it to record certain times. You would be effectively cutting out some of the DVR's best features by doing this though...
And they're not making money from DVD sales? I'm sorry, what does it cost... $.05 per disc? Probably less? The movie makers will continue to make money irregardless. And if the movie theatres can't stay open well that's just too bad. They should have figured out a way to make us want to come and put up with their ridiculous prices and all the annoying patrons that you have to sit with. I'm sorry, I'm still paying, I'm not going to feel sorry for them.
I'm sure the Book Industry Association of America will begin legal proceedings to shut down this independant source of material soon enough. Go about your business... Nothing to see here...
Yeah yeah... You got the point anyway. However this brings up an interesting point... Even if they only posted only how the technology works, they are still breaking the DMCA and can go directly to jail w/o their $200. This is why it is so dangerous.
We have enough trouble getting stuck on elevators between floors in 5 story buildings. Could you imagine getting stuck half-way to the moon? They better be sure to put one of those bright red emergency phones on this bad boy.
Right. Just like they already have a cure for cancer but it's bad business to release it because of lost revenues and such. I say bull. Do you really think that somebody in corporate America (or wherever) would be that greedy? Oh wait...
Well.... Do you want to spend $2000 on an uber-cool gaming machine or $2000 on an uber-cool HDTV and XBOX/PS2 hookup? Yeah yeah I know you can get a gaming pc for under $1000 but we're talking about enthusiasts here - those people that spend more on a video card than a whole console costs.
There is entirely too much talk of mounting things. It is impure to talk of such things. I hereby censor this thread in the name of the emperor of China - what's his name again?
Yes you could, but you would of course be missing the higher quality. You would be watch basically DVD quality television - which isn't bad, but it's nothing like real HDTV.
I whole-heartedly agree. I have been holding off on buying a HDTV simply because of this. I have a TiVo that I use to watch everything. I refuse to give up its capabilities, even if it means a better picture. Until they come out with HDTV TiVo, I'm waiting. And yes I know DVD's look better on HDTV too - but I want it all!

Yep. It's the worst though when you're searching Google for "Google monopoly theories".
Ahem, read the article. It's $2 per hour.
Not sure about that... But it gives new meaning to the term "sugar high"...

Because there are fewer subscribers to share costs in a given area, each subscriber has to pay more for their service to cover the company's costs.

Okay so my grammar isn't the best this early either - "Even if they only posted how the technology works..."
Happy?

It's about damned time. We have more than enough reviews on speed and performance, but there is a serious dearth of information on noise.
I think that the laws have changed, but the economics have not. There lies our dilemma.

Oh wait...
