    Drink lots of water. That's what I do. That forces me to take a toilet break every 45 or so minutes thus ensuring that I get to stretch by taking a walk to the toilet AND my eyes get a rest.

    It's all about using the big words when you persuade them to switch.

    I disagree. From my experience, using big words usually just overwhelmes joe user. Give it to them straight up and tell the the truth in the simplest possible manner usually works best for me.

    but i still find the whole concept of being able to send a letter from one part of the world to another part of the world facinating. The coordination involved. The delivery mechanism. Everything. Sure, you might say that it's nothing new, but to be able to send a physical letter thousands of miles away with 50 cents of postage is waaaaaaay cooler than an email and send. p.s.

    All it means is that somebody used their domains as the return addresses. It could just as well have been an irritated mail administrator fed up that SPAMCOP keeps blocking his email domain despite all his efforts to curb spam.

    It could very well be a diversionary tactic and it is best left to law enforcement to decide who the real culprits are.

    You can't have that if you want to switch and are highly dependant on it. Users will just get frustrated. Both of the apps only have a bronze medal

    ACPI Support built in for laptops! I use linux on my laptop a lot but when you're moving around alot, ACPI support is critical and much appreciated. It's just much too difficult to enable right now.

    Yes, security and built in holes are kept at a minimum. However, Joe Grandma or Larry Junior don't know the importance of a patch or probably don't even know what a patch is. When you're living behind a 56.6K modem, and you have to download a 15MB patch, all while paying per minute phone tariffs, you'll know what pain is.

    But why don't banks just destroy the Hard Disks before selling off the Machines? No matter how much one scrubs off a HDD there's always the risk of exposure of private details of clients.

    They should just get rid of it and save us all alot of headaches while recouping some money from the second hand machine.

    What wrong with this. Trillian and other third party client which charge people for premium software using microsoft's network should be paying microsoft for profiting from their network. MS is not saying they can't connect to the MSN network. All their asking is to share a little bit of the cost burden. What's wrong with that?

    With USB keys being much smaller and storage sizes increasing exponentionally,will the spinning disk still be a relavant tool for easy to carry around storage.

    USB keys are not only lighter, but you don't even have to worry about it fsckign because you shook it too much while you were on the bus.And they look waaay cooler too.

    Somehow I don't associate quality with goods that are made in China - regardless of the manufacturer. And it think it holds true for a lot of people.

    Manufacturers must realise that cost savings is not everything these days. People want quality too.

    In the "old days", indians who voted would have their fingers marked with a special dye that would take 2 weeks to disappear. :)

    Therefore there was no need for any ID Cards. Sigh, practical technology being replaced with technology that infringes on freedoms.

    Malaysia has had passports with smartchips for about 5 years now. Let me just say that it's a heaven sent for a traveller.

    Extremely fast processing. You enter the gateway, put your passport into a special slot, and off you go. It's a godsend in the Singapore Malaysia border where millions of people cross the causeway daily.

    The passport has all the regular pages and stuff and only gets stamped by countries who don't share the similar chip system. The downside to it all is that the Malaysian immigration office don't stamp your passport anymore. And that's bad considering I'd love to have those little stamps telling me when I left the country and what not.

    Dell does ship to Hungary. Just visit their local Hungarian site.

    Your best bet is to look for a localized site so that it's not only easier for you to return the product but also save on postage.

    Modularity also ensures that the computer is easier to upgrade in the long run. If your sound card dies on you, at least you know you only need to buy another sound card and not another mobo.

    Upgrades are much easier too.
