Well, almost. Actually its a Ms. Pac-Man and Galga combo cabinet. BUT, you can play Pac-Man after pressing start by moving the joystick up,up, up, down, down, down, left, right, left, right. left
If an "admin" installs a brand spanking new OS immediately after release, that admin should have his pocket protector taken away from him. Particularly if one is working in a business or other mission critical environment, installing new OS without giving time for new bugs to be discovered and addressed is a sure sign incompetance.
Harry Shearer, of Spinal Tap, Simpsons, and A Mighty Wind fame has a great a hour long radio show that is part sketch comedy, part social commentary, and part eclectic music. Harry does hilarious parodies of the usual suspects, O.J., political figures, journalists, etc. He has also introduced me to a lot of great music I wouldn't have heard otherwise. Some of the show can be an aquired taste, e.g, reading from trade magazines or the L.A. real estate transactions. Do your self a favor and go through the archives and lsiten to anything about O.J. Simpson phone calls. For more info check out;

Apple I Replica Creation

I have been imaging a system for running wires in a house, that was intended to facilitate future types of wiring.
I imagine pvc pipes running through most walls in the house. They would all lead to a closet in the basement where all of the networking, a/v, security, home control equipment would be.
Regardless of the type of wiring, you could just knock a new hole in the wall where you knew the pvc pipe was and install what ever kind of outlet you wanted.
Actually, there is a lot of useful stuff on t.v., it is just obscured by the mountains of crapola that is also on t.v.. Just one example of useful t.v.-- HBO is currently running a great documentary on Rosa Parks and the Alambama bus boycotts during the civil rights movement. Of course, one could get more information on the subject by reading books, but there is a powerful feeling you get by seeing the actual people involved speaking about the struggle, that is not easy to capture in text.
Maybe this thing is not a full fledged computer but a "WebPad", a wi-fi device for WWW, e-mail, and iTunes. Other possible abilities might include PDA type stuff, an advanced home entertainment remote control (maybe including HVAC, security, and security camera streaming), and/or video conferencing. The iTunes store concept could be extended to selling magazines and books to read on the "WebPad"
Specs. that I'm pulling out of my backside; 1 ghz G4 256 Megs ram 40 gig iPod type hard drive 802.11g 800x600 active matrix screen bluetooth? memory card slots?
I know I'd love such a device. I'm using my Clie to do many of those things I listed above right now. Then again I'm a Tech Addict.
Back when the iTunes Music Store opened, Apple solicited public comment about the store. I sent them an e-mail that described the above device. So if Apple does come out with such a device you are all witnesses for my lawsuit!!!!;-)
Note to Apple: I'll settle out of court for 2 WebPads, 1 new iMac, 1 new iPod and an Airport Express.
I have a Shuttle SG51 for gaming. It's about a year old. I run it with a 3.04 ghz P4 and an ATI 9800PRO. I get great performance and have no thermal problems. Since then Shuttle has improved the cooling of their boxen.
I wish Replay would make one of these portables to leverage their PVRs. It is a logical extension. Simply put the portable on the network and download the programs you already regularly record on your PVR. For people who comute by bus or train or fly a lot it would be great.
I have a Zodiac. When I'm not playing Stuntcar Extreme, I use it to read e-books, sometimes while playing MP3s in the background. Now if only AvantGo would support landscape screens!!!!
Idiot, I was simply relaying my experience and my opinion. I didn't say anything about the applicabilty to other people. If you can't live with other people giving their opinion, fuck off.

Q:Who owns Mercedes-Benz?
A: DAIMLER-chrysler
You could make a good arguement that the Newton was the original implementation of the tablet computer.

I just installed Acrobat 2 minutes ago, and deselected the checkbox for installing the toolbar.
May last XP install was brought down by software bloat. You won't get me this time you evil minons of software bloat!

>>Carter hasn't met a dictator he didn't love.
Carter started a proxy war against the Soviet Union fool!!!!
Because, until recently, the current incarnation of Star Trek has been tired and uninteresting.
Is there a big CHA on it?
SPOOOOOOOONNNN!!!!!!!!

For me it is a tie between Professor Frink and Professor Farnsworth. Both Matt Groening creations.

>> Look at all of the controversy currently surrounding TiVo and other PVRs.
While you may be right that there was a lot controversy over PVRs, you can go order one from a number of vendors right now.

Do the universe a favor and do not build your own stun gun. The little sisters and pet dogs of the world will thank you.

I assume it is useful for people with C64s to communicate with one another and to up/download software.

>> Just because a computer isn't for you, doesn't mean you need t complain on slashdot that this is "unnecessary".
erm, forgive me, but I thought Slashdot was a place for people to post their opinions. I'll just go bash my head into cement wall.
