Don't go so far, look at Mexico!
Iusacel, the second largest operator in Mexico has a national wide CDMA newtwork
Telcel is the largest operator here (it uses TDMA), and it has just finished the deployment of GSM on the 3 largest cities (advertising it as the next big thing, what a bummer!).It's having some succes reling purely on merchandising.
In order to succes operators need more services and leaner, shinny, featurewise hadsets on top of the rf technology, end users don't care about protocols.
".. Intel-based servers weren't fast enough, and the only operating system written for them, Microsoft Windows, wasn't reliable.
Today Intel machines are often faster than the proprietary systems from the three big vendors, and with Linux, the systems are just as reliable."
There is no word about AMD. It's saving a lot of money too.
.. According to the Big Bang theory, some 10 to 20 billion years ago, all of the matter and energy of the universe was compressed into a cosmic egg, or plasma ball, consisting..
Would't that be:.. all the matter, energy, and space of the universe..
?
Too bad that, for every geek that buys an AMD, there are like 12 Hommer-Simpson-type guys buying a P4 because it provides a 'faster connection to the internet'
..when you can get the gorgeous Sony Clie T615 for only $20 more!
* 320x320 res
* Bright colors
* decent sound (for midis and wava no mp3 decoding)
I was a no brainer when I have to chose one of them.
I have a multiregion DVD player by Sony. The Multiregion feature wasn't depicted in the box nor the manual but it was advertised as multiregion by the store.
It worked rigth out the box (no hidden menu nor remote control code), at least for region 1 and region 4 DVD's, I don't have DVD's from other regions to test it.(I live in Mexico)
And if someone boughts not one but 200 or 2000 copies of that new/hype/cool movie and "floods" the market?
When the movie finally arrives to theaters it would't be perceived as new/hype/cool by anybody, not even the ones that hasn't seen it. It's something old and then the studios don't make as much as they would have done.
I don't support this, I'm only statingwhy they invented the region scheme (one of the reasons at least)
I live in Mexico and have a multiregion Sony DVD,
It plays CDR/CDRW, decodes MP3 and VCD's.
In Mexico Multiregion is a must, I needed something capable of handling local BlockBuster movies (region 4), and the movies I bought online or when I go to US (region 1).
Almost all DVD players sold here are multiregion.
By the way I'm an Anime Fan too.
Your not a software developer/engineer, aren't you?
He was one of the pilars of computer science.
Have you ever seen such grief in/. for any one pasing by?
Rest in peace Dijkstra.
Does any one knows there should be so many instances of SVCHOST.EXE running in W2K pro and XP?
Isn't it multithreded or what?
Are there one per each service?
We have just finished to upgrade all the PC's in my work to W2K (we have to manually install W2K and download drivers for some of the newer XP-only laptops, a pain in the ass).
I've troubleshooted some friend's XP laptops and it sucks, you have to learn where every thing is... again. XP sucks, MS has no clue, if they stop supporting 2000 they'll help me to Linuxize the company I work for. ------ I have a W2K-only machine at home. For "freelance" software dev/debugging it's the best (and almost all of my games can be made run on it)
You stole that sig from a ThinkGeek shirt!
shame on you!
SO.. you're not a geek
What are you doing here in the first place?

Would't that be:
Again:
They implanted new genes on a REGULAR ADULT MICE, not a transgenic one.
That's the news.
So much anger...
Anger leads to hate. Hate leads to suffering!

Yea, as if the regular consume would know what "render" means
This part of the article is wrong.
That's not Commander Keen it's Dangerous Dave, and that's not Quake it's Quake II.
I know, I've played them all!

that would be a bacteria, a virus can't replicate itself without living cells to infect
