AppleShare over IP works just as well going Mac to Mac. I'm not sure what the Windows to Windows options are.

So, regarding that little spot about the cross platform stuff, did you miss the 'cross' part? That's sort of essential to cross platform. What you've descibed is the opposite of cross platform. And then to mention how you don't know how the 'windows to windows' options are is shorthand for saying "I didn't bother to read the question, and I will answer it despite knowing nothing about cross platform solutions. But in any case, here's what worked for me in an entirely different scenario, using two machines with the same OS."

As for French, forget it. Unless you have a certificate from Alliance Francaise, forget it. That's the golden standard in Francophone countries. Get working. It'll take you about a year to get that -- if you pass their tests. It's not easy, the teachers are not nice.

The shitty fucking truck stop here sells E85, 85% ethanol, 15% gasoline mix. That costs about 60-80% more per gallon than gasoline. Factor in the fact that ethanol just doesn't have the same fuel value, and it doesn't look so good. Plus, it takes some fancy fucking engine that few auto makers produce to burn.

It doesn't support the community for shit. For every 5 cent per gallon loss, that's five cents that doesn't go to the state department of transportation, meaning that the funding for replacing shitty fucking roads has to come from somewhere else -- either more taxes on normal gasoline, or higher vehicle licensing fees.

Don't kid yourself. Education isn't funded by ethanol. It's merely a way to placate angry farmers who reward politicans with votes. That's the real benefit. Keeping the trough full for farmers, and keeping incumbents in office.
