AVG is the king. But Norton isn't so much the problem as McAfee. That stuff is just total junk.
I've also found that Webroot's Spy Sweeper is excellent. I use a trial version of 3.5 on customer's machines to pull out the bugs sometimes.
Another key tool that I can't live without is "Hijack This". Stupid name, but a dang good tool.
If liquid metal was the ticket for super cooling...

Last time I checked, my 600 horsepower Bronco still uses regular old coolant.
Asside from the copywrite violations, this is a 1st ammendment issue... Freedom of Speech pure and simple.
If newspapers are against that, then they are against themselves.
There is also the definitions of Journalism that has to be addressed as well.
What consititutes a Journalist? Is the just being published, or is it readership? Because some of the bigger blogs out there have readerships far in excess of most newspapers.
For the newspapers, it's an all or nothing deal.

I work in a rural Utah computer shop, and every day, I'm seeing Linux make inroads. I've got about a dozen customers fully converted to it for desktop use. The downside is that these customers are no longer coming in every couple months for spyware and virus removal or other Windows fixes. Go figure.
When I looked at the screen shots, I am seeing something that reminds me of some of the new Longhorn gadgets... or things that have been said to become new Longhorn features. Transparency, 3D positioning of windows. 10 bucks says that Sun offering will have about 1/2 the system requirements that Longhorn will have when it finally comes out.
I like the looks of this. Very clean. Very fresh. This will make potential Longhorn customers take a 2nd look.

Three 3.2ghz processors? Wow. That's some pretty cool hardware specs. Pretty impressive. But it all means jack if they don't have the titles.
