There are quite a few bits that can be used with Linux that are not public.
Binary modules/X11 drivers are not a contribution to Linux. Linux is an open source kernel. Just about the only contribution you can make is source code.
Is that the judge ordered IBM to give SCO all non-public contributions IBM made to Linux....which tells me the judge doesn't even know what Linux is. There is not such thing as a non public contribution to Linux.
why do all the games look like they were written in 1990
1982 man, 1982.
Linux is not for the average user. Its basically designed for the hobbyist/developer/administrator who need the kind of power to totally customize their environment for specific tasks, work, programs, fun, etc. If you want to use it as a general desktop system with no prior experience you need to reach at least...level 22 geek or enjoy computers enough to want to learn the OS.
In the two way tests when the Xeon won it was always by a margin of like 1% to 3% where as when the Xeon lost, it was usually by 5-11+%. Not sure how the Xeon fared well here since it has lots more clock speed and lots more cache. It basically got owned hard core.
If HardOCP truly takes journalism seriously, then a few corrections should be forthcoming. The fact that an expense paid invitation to view the facility was turned down suggests a strong anti-Infinium bias.
Did you happen to read the link at HardOCP. They made 5 corrections.
At the time they picked up the case the DMCA reverse engineering clause had not been tested in court so it was an important battle.
Since then its been tested twice that I know of, with garage door openers and printer cartridges. That doesn't mean they have to drop it. Its still never been tested with respect to software.
This case is important because if BNETD looses it sets a precident for companies to use the DMCA against freely available software which emulates threir commerical software/service.
"It suits us fine the Microsoft and Sun fight about office application suites. We stay away from that. The reason we don't collaborate with Sun is that they're too small," said Pettersson.
Not to mention, Sun SUCKS. I hate their, 'now we like Linux, now we don't' attitude.

True. If you have reached a level of cluefulness where you need to find information on Xfree86 then you are using Google as well.
