Having to save was fine back in the days when it took 20 seconds to save to disk. These days, every change should be able to be saved and logged to a change log on a second by second basis. Saving should be banished and everything should be able to be rolled forward and back. People keep saying computers are more than fast enough, so put that extra power to actual useful things.
So now I have to go through a 600 line changelog to find the version from 10 minutes ago that I was pleased with. There would need to be some sort of used defined keyframe functionality to say "I want this version (for now)". I know...I can hit the 'Save' button.
You may think that. OTOH, you have not had to listen to his continual bitching at trivial problems all day long. Did you ever consider that sometimes, two people just do not get along?
I was visiting a friend last night when I asked if I could borrow a newspaper.
'This is the 21st century', he said. 'I don't waste money on newspapers. Here, you can borrow my iPad.'
I can tell you, that poor fly never knew what hit it...
And this is why it makes me laugh when people say: "I'd never filter my kids internet access.", or "schools and libraries should be unfiltered" Some people are more sick than you can imagine. You don't want to expose your kids to to the worst of humanity.
So they pull this one just before getting to the 25,000 threshold. So what? That 25.000 threshold never meant anything! Never.
IIRC, the similar signature gathering for review of SOPA went far over 25,000, and the response was: Yeah, we 'reviewed" it. Now STFU and GTBW. Did you really think they would reverse a policy based on petitions at that site? Since its inception, have any proposals been reversed due to petitions at https://petitions.whitehouse.gov/? See? We're good! We're giving you, the little people, a voice! [we won't listen to it, but here ya go]
Pricing gets a decent bit more reasonable if you want things like TV or phone service, but I have no use for either of those so I'm stuck with the absurd data-only pricing.
We've got the tv/phone/net bundle, and the 25/25 FiOS portion is $35/month. 1/2way through a 2 year lock in, $125/month total. If *she* would let me, I'd easily drop the TV portion, and go with an OOMA or similar for phone.
if you want tenths accuracy you need to position the speakers the same distance from the ears with tenth of a foot accuracy, or "about an inch".
Ok, we have one runner who is 5'11", and next to him is a runner that is 6'3". Where to place the the speaker? All at the same distance from the blocks? We have a disparity in ear distance. Adjust for each runner? There will be claims of 'it was placed wrong'.
There's nothing requiring the owner of the car to be the one driving it.
Requiring, no. Probably, yes. If it is seen parked at your residence, and then seen on the road in between your residence and your place of work, and then later seen at your place of work....it was probably *you*.
It's not like this is coming out of the blue. Every one of the owners of those machines has had at least 6 months' warning of the problem.
6 months warning? Where? I guarantee, if I were to go into work on Monday and say "hey, have you heard about that whole DNSChanger thing?"...2, maybe 3, out of 75 would say yes. And those because they read it here.
Because then it is too late. Much better to inform people beforehand so they can (hopefully) prevent it, rather than trying to get it undone after the fact.
Personally, I'd argue that making voting mandatory but restricting the electorate to those with a given minimum level of education and/or minimum intelligence would be the smart move, but change the rules for being in school from being mandatory for under 16s to being mandatory for under BSc/BAs regardless of age. (Likewise, eliminate the age of responsibility/majority - unlike cheese and wine, people do not improve with age alone - and replace it with a proficiency of responsibility. I don't care if you're 16, 60 or 600.)
1. Not everyone is suited for a college degree. Period. That does not automatically mean they are less intelligent.
2. Make rules for voting other than 'citizen' and 'breathing' and we would immediately see massive manipulation of those rules. And *you* will not be one of the manipulators.
I just want to see 'citizen' and 'breathing' enforced.
Bull. You can't just take NASA's accident (or fatality) record, you have to lump in the Russians, Chinese, ESA, and anyone else that has lofted a craft into semi-orbit. Because we've all learned from each other, as humans. And obviously, we have no other space faring species at the very beginning of their quest to compare to. Is the number of people that have been killed good or bad? No clue.
And, according to your wiki link, Soyuz and the Shuttle fared about the same in launch/reentry losses, at 2%.

Your Worst Fucking Nightmare,
Clint
ahem...
Fucking our neighbors to death for the last million years.

If my boss sees this, and pairs me up with L.....before day one is out there will be two fewer programmers. One dead, and me in jail.
Who will likely use it as a tea cozy.

What am I forgetting?
Buy their kid a drumset. And the other kid a Mr. Microphone.
Selection of non-military may have been purposeful.
It was definitely on purpose, to end run around any claims from other countries (USSR) that the US was doing this as a military mission.
And this is why it makes me laugh when people say: "I'd never filter my kids internet access.", or "schools and libraries should be unfiltered"

misclick needs to be reversed

meet the new boss, same as the old boss.

I still have my 1982 commodore 64 in it's original box.
Anyone want to buy it?
So do I, as well as a VIC-20. Both still working.

And rent in the city is free? You have to live somewhere.
Damn copyright-loving, Hollywood-supporting Democrats like Lamar Smith.
Oh, wait...
Supported by that uber ex-Republican Congressman, Chris Dodd.
I think the operative color here is green, not red or blue.
I'm 39 and I view bookshelves as something that my parents have.
My middle child is 25, and has a ridiculous amount of deadtree books. Owns a Kindle and iPad, but much prefers books.

Be it 35mm + live actors, digital, silent B&W, IMAX, or this game engine...you still need a good story teller to make a good movie or short.
Let's hope some good story tellers jump on this and make some good stuff.
Yet another area that China will be ahead of the US on before long.
China slowing nuclear buildout!
"The Chinese are ahead of the US!"
(in an alternate article)
China increasing nuclear buildout!
"The Chinese are ahead of the US!"
Some people just like to say the US is 'behind', no matter what the issue or facts are.
