PC gaming will always be around. EQII WoW Etc are just too complex to be played on a console with the limited number of buttons on the controller. Unless you want to memorize 40 different button combinations on your console controller. And without PC gaming there will be no Uber Micro and we all know we can not live without uber micro.
I agree Comcast is the worst...that is what we are stuck with here where I live, but in order to get the extras like HBO or showtime etc you have to get Digital Cable $50+ for basic digital them premiums on top of that, which is a buch of BS.... as soon as I move to a place with a southern facing area where I can install the dish (I am in a noth facing apartment right now) I am switching over to direct TV.
Does anyone know of any music service(s) that don't come with DRM music files? Or are all of them going this way... and no I am not talking about P2P either, I am looking for one like iTunes where you pay and download. I have never used any of them so I don't know the details on them, but paying for the songs that I want rather than the whole CD is better in my mind.
Correction, it was an 80 ft. *METEOR* that created that Arizona scar. The asteroid was probably much, much larger before it plunged through the atmosphere and shrunk into that 80 ft. meteor. - Asteroid: the rock before it touches our atmosphere - Meteorite: the rock as it's plunging through our atmosphere - Meteor: the rock after it's hit the ground.
if you are going to try to act smart at least get your facts correct.
Meteorite: Stony or metallic object that is the remains of a meteoroid that has reached the earth's surface.
Meteor: A bright trail or streak that appears in the sky when a meteoroid is heated to incandescence by friction with the earth's atmosphere. Also called falling star, meteor burst, shooting star.
The law was passed on Monday with a vote of 45-22 I believe. It only has to go through Bill Richardson so sign it into law. There has been an uproar over here in New Mexico about this whole thing. The law not only says cars sold in New Mexico have to have the interlock but any car registered in the state. Any vehicle under 10,000 pounds is required to have the interlock... yes this includes motorcycles. There have been reports on the news that the civilians will be in charge of getting the interlock and paying for it on vehicles that they already own (cost between $1,000-1,500 each)... I am not sure how many of you all have been here to New Mexico but there are a lot of cars out there that are not even worth this much money... if people can not afford a better car how are they supposed to pay for this to get installed on their car? Not to mention that they are required to have mandatory service every 90 days which costs the customer an additional $80 each time. Also stated in the numerous reports out there is that there will be a 3% tax increase on vehicles sold in New Mexico starting Jan, 1 2005 to help offset the cost of installing these modules into new cars so that the dealers will not have to pay for them. The interlock from what I understand records every time that you get in your vehicle with alcohol on your breath and that you try to start the vehicle, this info is then made available to various organizations (read insurance companies)... I am sorry if this post sounds random I am just ticked off when ever I hear about this thing....
It wasn't really an argument in favor of the tabacco companies, I was just making a point about the double standards in the courts these days. Look at the alcohol companies, how many deaths have there been on the roads due to drunk drivers? Yes I know they have been pushing the whole DD thing, but I can't recall back in the 80's there being any such messages, just images of people having fun. Also as I recall when the P2P services started up, none of them mentioned anything about file sharing being illegal. All I am saying is that taking part in such activities the users/customers know what they are getting into, so either punish all companies in relation to their customers actions or don't punish any of them.
the consensus answer is almost always the correct one
Yeah but in some cases the consensus is wrong for example of Email... most people spell it E-Mail... I just tried e-mail in google and I am glad to see that they got that error fixed it gives the suggestion of email now... e-mail I also find it interesting how a lot of people on the web use the two interchangeably.
Yeah I do the same thing... I "won" a really nice speaker set retail over $1,000 for $100 because it was misspelled.... although when they saw that the winning bid was so low they canceled the auction and claimed that after review the speakers were damaged...
heh, I bumped into a website of such a moron in 2001, which stated that 'he had 10 years hands-on-experience' in building websites
very nice, because the first browser was available around 1993 !`
Actually around 1990 so that still fits in the 10 year line... www
You can rotate through all of the photos in a folder (well, they fade in and out) on your desktop over a specified time period. For me, it's every 5 seconds, and it's random. I find myself spending an alarmming amount of time on Google Image Search finding pics to add to my slideshow folder. (Can this be done in XP?)
Use local grocery stores and department stores whenever possible
How can I use local grocery stores when the super Wal-Mart put all the local grocery stores out of business (well there is one left but it is Albertsons and it is way way way over priced)? Now Wal-Mart opened a second super Wal-Mart in town (Maybe to push Albertsons out of town as well?), I have heard plans on opening a third super Wal-Mart in town too. You all may be saying 3 super Wal-Marts in one town is nothing, but I live in Las Cruces, New Mexico... a city of about 130,000 people (about 150,000 when the University is in session)... this just helps support that Wal-Mart is Evil.
Even if the rover did find oil on Mars, it would be almost useless to us. Think of the transporting costs to get it back here to use. I am thinking the cost would be $50+ per gallon for regular gas to the consumer just to break even.

I remember reading about this a year or so ago.... ON SLASHDOT....
Los Alamos... not Los Alimos
what does a 2.4Ghz Atlon get you that a 2.0Ghz doesn't?
Chicks.... lots and lots of chicks....
Potatoe chips???
Dan Quail is that you?
LMFAO thanks I needed that.... and how true it is!

I haven't used M$ Office since college 5 years ago (it was crap then and still is)
If you haven't used it in 5 years how can you honestly make this argument? I am just curious.

it was cheap and easy
Just like my mom

I am really hoping that New Mexico can become the first state to be /.ed. Then maybe we can have something to brag about... come on guys!

may affect whether technology companies can be held liable for their customers' behavior
I mean after all look at the tabacco companies... they did not force people to smoke yet they are held responsible for the people that smoke.
Chemistry (CHe) and Chemical Engineering (ChemE) are two totally different fields.
Those who can't are real loosers.
Are you saying that they get around the block?

nope they still use it, well sort of, it is more like the whole mouse is one big button now...
I think you mean iexplore.exe not explorer.exe... two different animals.
