Some of the best cheeses are made from raw milk, but they can't be legally imported into the US
Here in Australia, hypocrisy rules. We are allowed to import raw-milk cheeses from Europe, but we are not allowed to produce them locally. It's something quite a lot of people are bothered about, but governmental idiocy of course prevails.
I remember drinking unpasteurised milk - a test of faith in the immune system:) but a worthwhile one
When I was a kid in Guernsey (Channel Islands, home of the Guernsey cow) we used to get raw (unpasteurised) milk delivered into the jug of our choice on our doorstep.
I don't recall having died as a result of consuming it:-)
For what it's worth, I ran some Coke Light through a HPLC (High Performance Liquid Chromatography) setup a couple of weeks ago, and it had 1.6 times as much caffienne as regular Coke.
I rarely come across sites that just cannot be made to work with Mozilla without spoofing the user-agent. If, as the original poster suggests, Hotmail doesn't work with Mozilla, then that is more Hotmail's loss than anyone else's.
Let's face it, there are other (better) free email services out there. There's no reason to continue to visit sites that are deliberately broken when the content is not there.
spam filtering -- right in the kernel -- is now a slated feature for Linux 2.6.
But... but... That means we won't see 2.6 for years!
Seriously, though, with the number of goodies already backported from the development kernel into 2.4, I wouldn't mind seeing an earlier rather than later release of 2.6. After all, how long has it been since the last major version? Must be about 3 years.
I think it's kind of funny that the reviewer describes 1.0 of 1.1 GHz processors as only suitable for word processing and web browsing.
Seems the Athlon 1.0 GHz Tbird I've been using for the last 3 years for molecular modelling etc is just hopeless, and I should just upgrade immediately or slash my wrists...:-)
These might be sticky questions, but the total lack of regulation on the internet has led to a situation where anybody can say anything about anybody with no redress. It's only a matter of time until the community won't be able to take this any more. I'm not saying the EU measures are good per se since I haven't seen the details, but it's been a long time coming.
If you like Sketches, you'll probably also like Porgy and Bess, another collaboration with Gil Evans. Miles' version of "Summertime" is the most gorgeous ever recorded. And that's a fact:-)
FYI: I got it at www.discoweb.co.uk after much googling. Take my advice about the so-called bonus tracks, though, you'll be in for a shock if you're expecting something of the calibre of the "main" album.I thought to search for it again in a similar fit of nostalgia: moonbathing parties on the beach, and all that sort of thing back in the days when...:-)
I've been hunting for Lambert/Hendricks/Ross for a while, but so far no joy:-(
Anybody who's into Miles Davis might be interested by a somewhat lesser-known recording (among the hundreds that he has made) is a soundtrack to a French movie "Ascenseur pour l'Echafaud" (Lift to the Scaffold). One of the sexiest recordings he ever made.
For anybody who's into Coltrane, Afro Blue Impressions and A Love Supreme are what I would consider essential in any collection.
And one which I had 20 years ago on vinyl (it was stolen) which I have only just been able to get a new copy of on CD is Twin House, a a set of guitar duos recorded in 1976 by Larry Coryell and Philip Catherine. This CD (on the ACT label) has 5 "bonus" tracks to bump up the old 40-minute-LP format to ~65 minutes, but these tracks are totally out of keeping with the original album (IMHO) so I've burned a fresh copy, leaving them out.
And the RIAA can just chew on that; I think that should be legal, even if it isn't.
Uh, no. I'm an Australian citizen, and thus not qualified to vote in US elections.

The densest matter ever observed has to be G.W. Bush's brain :-)

I assume you mean the last century :-)
Conclusion:
Don't bother replicating the experiment.
I don't know about you, but regular coffee works pretty well for me as an appetite suppressant :-)
OK, so I'm an insensitive clod... :-)
Actually, the regular hemp plant that they use for fibre (for rope or trendy clothes) yields only traces of tetrahydrocannabinol.
For what it's worth, I ran some Coke Light through a HPLC (High Performance Liquid Chromatography) setup a couple of weeks ago, and it had 1.6 times as much caffienne as regular Coke.
Caffiene is actually relatively easy to synthesise. It shouldn't be too hard to simply add it to regular coffee.
I'm a biotech student, and as such genetic modification is hardly anathema to me;
BUT DON'T FUCK WITH MY DAMN COFFEE!
And yes, I actually do like the taste of it (at least the stuff I make). I would be curious to find out if this new stuff tasted any good...

So all we have to do is make that single play a ripping session :-)
Brings to mind a quote from about 1989 when a generalissimo of Borland (if my memory serves me correctly, 14 years is a long time) said:
"The only thing you can do to stop someone pirating your software is to go round to his house and kill him."
When asked if that wasn't a little extreme, he said "Well, maim him anyway." :-)
So I was close :-)

Hmmm. I've found P2P fairly useless as a means of "stealing" music, though it's probably all right if you have very pedestrian tastes.
So far, SMS spamming doesn't seem to have really taken hold here in Perth. So far, the only SMS spam I've had has been from my provider.
So why don't they just use Slackware?
