Uhh, I may be wrong on this one, but I do belive they are referring to *TRANSACTIONS*

Saying that before 7.2 you could only call BEGIN 4 billion times...
Yah, that macrovision complaint is BUNK!!! I tried capturing the *#$! ultrasound of our baby on the way using my 7700 Deluxe and it told me it was macrovision protected! Tell the MPAA and the DCMA to get their hands of my baby.
How about one $400-500 pda, say an ipaq of sorts. Throw in a 1gb IBM microdrive which can be had for around $300. A usb cf reader is $20. You now have a whole lot more functionality for the same money.
Yah, I found a place to get more bang for my buck on factory parts. www.subaruparts.com they sell considerably below list and I know some people who can get you some extra discount codes on top of that!
not quite. It was given away to pc gamer subscribers, but still retained all copyright and distribution limitations. Technically you couldn't give it away to your friends.
Playing on the same machine is cool if you own one of these. I have one and along with my complete collection of roms it makes for a killer party (mabye add a keg or two).
hunh??? Every Costco I've been to requires the checker to scan my card before ringing up any of my items. A friend is allowed to use my card if I'm present at the register.
I wouldn't say that necessarly. First, they have three kinds of memberships for corp., business, and personal. Secondly they look at EVERYTHING you buy. You better belive that they can tell if your buying cola for a restraunt, or just some thirsty kids. Next time your in Costco take a look at the contents of people's shopping carts about 95% of the people in there are just buying as a direct consumer. Costco has a whole floor in their corp. office dedicated to figuring things like this out.
Pop quiz time: How many of you here have Costco memberships? Plenty I'm sure. They got cheap everything there, a deal for everyone. Now guess who does some of the most aggressive marketing analysis based on what you buy and when?
Sorry, all you have to file with the USPO is paperwork (and money). They used to require working prototypes with submission but eventually were unable to manage all the inventions, thereby dropping the requirement.
except most criminals could get out due to this kind of arrest being called entrapment. Only if they are legimately giving away a prize may that do such a thing. I heard of some cops sending out free baseball tickes to one parcular game to a bunch of convicted DUI people with suspended licenses. Anyone who didn't show up in a taxi/bus/passenger vehicle (driving without a license) was arrested on the spot. All the other guys got to go to the game.
You know if MSFT allowed one to modify the interval on the time server update, people would think its cool to update every thirty seconds. The majority of users are *still* more braindead that MS.
When I first heard about the power company deploying high speed networks I was excited. After talking to some people I found the real reason wasn't to give cheap high-speed access to the masses. What I found out was when TCI (local cable provider, later gobbeled up by at&t@home) was upgrading everything to fiber the city asked if they could use TCI's city-wide network to monitor power outages. TCI said no. Tacoma power then decided that they were going to deploy their own fiber within the city and directly compete with TCI.
Well now we have AT&T@Home, Tacoma Click, Qwest, Covad, and sattelite as options of high-speed access. Unlike AT&T who is your sole network provider, Tacoma Click will not sell access directly, and you are required to buy access from local ISP's. This results in Click's cablemodem access being no better speed-wise than good Qwest DSL!
Another downside to Click is the inability to leave city-limits.
OT: You've just encountered the most recent level of trolling. Wait till you get some mod points and troll with an AC. Sure you'll get metamodded down but its worth it. I mean crap, look how much time they went to putting that all together!
In a way they do, as the light sensor can be used to identify color. Given that it only works in extremely controlled conditions, you can identify different colors based on the intensity (resistance) given off by the sensor, as different colors reflect different ammounts of light.
Can you define oxymoron?

Mabye Oracle really is unbreakable, with only a weakness for haxxors instead of water?
Perhaps now we will find out that Larry Ellison is an evil supervillin...

correct me if I'm wrong, but I belive that you cannot bring a lawyer into small claims court.

Now when I'm stuck in traffic I can look at my phone to find out that traffic is bad.
Capsela did have a 'programmable capsule' which can be seen here

After they showcased their new offerings, Handspring has been completly unreachable all day. News exists outside of the slashdot microcosism.
