Due to the Open Source nature of Linux, it's very simple to be dumbed down. You can have "Dumbass Distro" and "Poweruser Distro". All the normal computer people buy Dumbass Distro, and it probably comes pre-installed (Lindows Boxen). All the people who feel limited by it (Err..) can go ahead and install the Poweruser Distro. Hey, and if you can't do that, then yer not ready.
I second the paintball motion. It's bloody cool, and more fun than a FPS could ever be.
Hurts like hell when yer teammate shoots ye in the butt from >3ft away though. Trust me on this one.
But hey, learn paintball instead of this. Hell, do both! Games, but with physical activity. This is good; I like the concept of a physically active computer game.. =D
In fact, if you have yerself a Mac try out Mac2Phone. It's unbelievably reliable, works well EVEN WITH dialup, and is damn cheap.
In fact, I'd venture to say it's the best VOIP solution out there right now. Calls Landlines, you'll get a free IP Phone...it's all a great deal, and a great service.
Best of luck, and look into all of these solutions (Also see the bit about Verizon's wireless card and a cell carrier. That would be the second option I suggest. Scroll down for it. =p)
Most likely only work on Windows. While the majority of users will have problems, those of us on Macs or Linux, or FreeBSD, or any other varient will have no issues.
In fact, may I suggest running VPC to download these things, and then just dragging the files out of the share folder? It's just that easy, and if they wail on yer comp, it was only a Virtual PC. No worries.
For any with a technical bent, this is no problem at all.
Ok, maybe it's not an official "Unix" (Pfft, so says Open Group), but Mac OS X is a damn fine *nix OS. It's a good server platform, too (look at how it handled the load at Apple's music store).
BM's Unix license is irrevocable, perpetual and fully paid up. It cannot be terminated. This matter will eventually be resolved in the normal legal process.
It's countersuit time! Looks like SCO is utterly screwed at this point. IBM has finally had enough now that SCO has aimed its sights square on IBM's customers.
...in an apparent attempt to create fear uncertainty and doubt among IBM's customers and the open source community
And in related news, a certain PR spokesman has been reading too much/.
Jobs is (was) right. All the hype about the Segway, and then they didn't arrive.
Same about the design. Now I know why Apple's computers are so good; Jobs knows what will sell, and doesn't market (Ok, forget the cube) what won't. Seems he's a smart business guy, whereas Dean is...an engineer.
Makes sense why the Segway has, well, failed to put it bluntly.
And for everyone thinking Jobs says the Segway sucks, you need to RTFA. He was talking about the design; he said the segway itself was "incredibly innovative".

Usually I get a "Why do you have to be such an asshole" comment, or some demeaning "computer person" comment. =p
I usually leave him to mess up his own computer, and go back to my Mac.
Moronic AC too afraid to post logged in.
That's like saying "Sometime there will be safter chips than the pentium 4s."
Well, considering the 2ghz is a bit faster then what Intel/AMD are offering in the 64bit arena, and way faster than what Sun is offering...
Or:
"I don't know what sales tax is."
You need Jag to upgrade to Panther.
And this got modded up... o.O

The Safari-driven finder: look here. Looks veddy veddy Safari like to me...

They can fuck royally with yer bios, or scramble up the data on you hdd. Or they could just do an rm -rf (format C:).
Any of these would work.

IBM, you listening?

Well, I'd certainly cry. =p

Hahahaha, I rather like that image...
Of course a move like this really opens them up for a countersuit...
You've obviously forgotten overused /. meme #405. It should be:
1.Buy someone else's IP
2.Fail economics 101
3.Sue
4.???
5. PROFIT!
Please keep this in mind next time you decide to come out from under your silly little bridge. Us big people have things to do.
I really like the cube, too. It just didn't sell, so it doesn't count. =p

Errr, Steve Jobs is the head of Apple...
Well, first you need a DVD drive.
Second, it doesn't freeze the finder on me..*shrug* Just doesn't read the disk.
Well, that seems to be enough to buy a CD at Best Buy or otherwise. Not half bad if you consume a lot of music; you just got a freebie!
Free versus the two hundred some odd dollars for windows could save them a lot.
