ps2 looks like crap always. Look at those MLB 2003-4 commercials and tell me that PS2 is a great console. SONY's own 989 studios can't even make a decent looking game. So theres 3 exceptions, MGS, MGS, oh and... MGS!! [maybe possibly gran turismo when it launched, but still]ps2 has all around ugly games. NOT that ugly =! fun, because its quite the opposite, but never the less, its aliasing is shit.
wouldn't suprise me either..... except at what cost. blue laser technology is here. No more research and development. nada (minus perfecting). 2xlayer dvd would require ANOTHER standard:( (as if -r+r and RAM werent enough.)
Mastering and Burning are two different ballgames. Mastered discs are manufactured differently than burned discs. The practibility of a dual layered burner is slight... it'd be pretty hard to burn effectively at a different depth below another data layer, not to mention the plastic.
if i recall.... WEP is the wirless encryption protocol. 802.11 networks should be rolling it out if its not already. Simple solutions? use an SSL gateway
Am i the only person who doesn't like the "task based interface"? it seems like a peice of "innovation" that makes things too easy.... and by too easy i mean that it over simlifies something that isn't that complex.
i hope it will change, but that doesnt mean that it will. Look at market share.... its a huge factor for console games, and an even greater factor for PC games. PS2 gets every game maker because it has the market penetration to put out a shit game, and because its only 20 bucks, at least a million people will buy it. PC games are the same way. How many bundle packs have you seen at wal-mart for windows? how many have you seen for linux? and for that matter, how many games have you seen that are linux native? dink smallwood doesnt count (points go to who gets that reference)
Theres more to gaming than just Windows-only games like Couterstrike or Quake III.
old games, yes, this article is about the cutting edge of games (doom 3, etc)
Many Linux people enjoy the same kind of fun on their platforms. Railroad Tycoon II and Quake II work just fine, thanks.
OLDER GAMES.... THATS PROBABLY WHY THEY DIDN"T MENTION LINUX.
how long has NWN been out for win? linux?
don't get me wrong, i love linux, its just that these blanket "WHY NOT LINUX?!" statements are getting on my nerves.
I'm waiting till the 1337 h4x0rs are done with linux, and when the 1337 h4x0rs can stop being so 1337, and start being more productive.
I'm thinking of switching to BE.... so i can be more productive. Its a joke.... laugh....
honestly, though, i did the whole deb thing for a couple years, and i just got kind of bored with it. I don't use a computer for fun anymore, so that kind of puts a dampner on things.
As a high school student that certified (CCNA), let me tell you a couple of things:
#1 - CCNA is worthless to a high school student (at least a sophomore) I reciveved my cert in february, got a job in march, and then after my cert expired 2 years later, i had no real desire to do any more cisco out of high shcool.
#2 - people don't realize how difficult it is as a HS student. HS was cake, but HS, Junior College, and a job as a CCNA (mostly diagnosing router problems) wasn't the best way for me to spend my time. After my sophomore year, i worked on my associates degree more fully, and let me tell you.... way more worth it. Most kids that are smart enough to get a CCNA, are smart enough to do a few/a lot of community college courses. Do that instead of a cert.... that way getting into a bigger school is cake. (only a 26 on the ACT for me, but it was irrellivent)
thats why i was making a broad generalization for the broad generalization. Of course there are morons (plus who trusts any paper wtih the name Post in it... i digress) who pre write stories, but still.
yes, we all don't care about people do we.... everything is about attracting viewers, and ratings.... EVEN WHEN THERE ARE NO COMMERCIALS.
Listen... the media isn't as stupid as everyone thinks. We do care about people, and their stories, at least one of us does, and when people realize that in the case of true tragedies, information is first, second, third, fourth, and fifth, ratings might be the sixth or seventh priority. (Similar tragedies like Sept. 11, OKC Bombing, hell even that tornado in Salt Lake City got pretty good commercial free coverage, and of course the 2 shuttle disasters [side note, don't ever call these Misahps. people don't die in mishaps]) The media is heartless when it comes to getting dirt on people, but not souless when it comes to death and distruction.
this has been your broad generalazation correction for another broad generalization.
Mormon's dont buy radiostations. The mormons parly own 1 station, and a mormon related company (bonnivile communications, who puts on their general conference for free) owns PAX TV. The LDS church (as far as i can tell) doesn't have anything to do with radio.
Being a comm major, i kind of agree with the grade inflation statement. I work hard, but not the same way an engineer does. I work for TV news, getting stories, talking with people, asking questions a certain way so that people don't want to kill me, and all the meanwhile i have to be able to explain concepts of technology to an 8th grade reading level? I know some geeks (like myself) can do it, but i wan't to see you try and hop on a newscast, reading something completley cold (never read it before) and sound interested in this weeks olive garden opening on riverdale road. Seriously, its harder than it sounds.
its difficult, but people don't die if i screw up (other than my career). I completly respect engineers and all the hard work (not to mention schooling) they go through.
truth has always been a defense for libel. if they ask the person who left the feedback if it's true, then its not libel!
look back to early american history!
*the governer fucked my wife* was published (not like that, but same intent). someone responded with "its true!" and therefore not seditious libel (given this isn't seditious, but thats where we get the 1st amendment from)
caldera has been dead since after redhat 5 came out. i used to use caldera, but then i switched to deb and have loved it ever since. caldera hasn't had a damn chance ever, so i guess they need to recoup their investment, and suing everyone that "has your technology" seems like a good idea.
i read that interview about tcpa, and i see TCPA is being included on this..... so TCPA isn't usually DRM related? is a 'trusted' app just an app that can do whatever it wants because its certified? (which is probably fine with me, but yeah)
(-1, fucktard question) I know its a dumb question, but if someone can answer it, thanks.

LOL never heard mormonstan before
Trillian patched that bug that has been causing aim connectivity to crash since 2/11/03. go to ceruleanstudios.com or download.com for more info.

oh man... that was terrible....
you guys win...
LINUX IS THE BEST PLATFORM FOR GAMING!

lets see, i'm going to break this down 2 ways.

obviously even before the accident occured, he already increased nasa's budget. (flame about people complaining the deficit encouraged)
holy crap, this crap makes me crapfully bugged. Just when i wanted to check my e-mail again. POM POM, POM PILOT.
"BUBBLE BUBBLE"
ahhhh.... much better.....
Dear Strongbad,
why don't you let the cheat answer any e-mails?

actually its because people are interested in the topic, and its a good place for discussion.
its kind of ironic that they post them AC....... its almost like a troll or something.......
hmmm.....
i wonder.....

that has to be one of the most lame jokes i've ever heard.
stop trying to karma whore, its not as fun anymore since there aren't point numbers.
[just kidding about the fun part of karma whoring]
