  1. Btw spread my meme on French Riots Lead to Crackdown on Blogs · · Score: 0

Any complex sociopolitical situation needs to boiled down into one catchy buzzword. *gate is reserved for American political scandals so I suggest we call this one -- Frenchifada. Go on say it:

    Frenchifada

    Frenchifada

    Frenchifada

    spread it around!

Beverly Hills is certainly "ethnically segregated" How does that have any bearing on whether Paris is ethnically segragated or not? This doesn't have to be as a result of laws. France probably has the same issues of extreme poverty and illiteracy, a culture of dependency caused by welfare, and white flight from inner cities just as the USA does. The difference is here it is atleast acknowledged and discussed even if grudingly at times.

In contrast the french attitude seems to be either "there is no problem" or "atleast we're not america"

Well the Frenchifada is the direct result of choosing not to face the problem.

  6. Re:Just join Debian already on Redhat Spins Off Fedora Project · · Score: 0

Read the article. Red Hat wants to increase community involvement (Read: stop subsidizing it so much.) Debian has the most advanced volunteer community of any distro. Why duplicate their work?

As for release management, there is no reason why you couldn't cherry pick packages from the Debian mainstream and release them faster. Isn't that exactly what Ubuntu is doing?

  7. Just join Debian already on Redhat Spins Off Fedora Project · · Score: 0

Why do we need two separate Linux packaging "communities?" Debian already spans multiple architectures and multiple kernels. Multiple package formats would not be too much of a stretch particularly using apt as a unifying layer over both. Each distro has some unique stuff the other could use but mostly they are duplicating work. And they share the same Free Software ideals. So IMO a merger would make sense.

Ok, let's think about this. Let's say I'm Scrooge McDuck and I want to thwart the forces that are trying to make my family wear pants. WHY THE HELL would I illegally fund delegates? It's the elected officials or prospective candidates I want to bribe not the convention delegates who are just bit actors in the nomination stage show.

The utter lack of understanding of how the political system works by people like this is scary.
